.....but i thought i would just share with you guys....

i have just been accepted into the 2006 Marathon Des Sables!

if you don't know what it is, then go to http://www.saharamarathon.co.uk and learn all about it :) (if you look under 2006 competitors, i am currently 4th from the top)

am well excited and can't wait! better wish me luck i think! course anyone who fancies sponsoring me, please PM - all donations gladly accepted.

i am doing it for two charities - 1. the brain tumor trust (my mum has one) and 2. the society for parkinson's disease (my g.f's dad has that at the advanced stage), so apart from doing it for reasons of my own, they are also two very good reasons for undertaking such a colossal task!

who wants to go in my will to get all my D&D stuff ? :D

Are we nearly there yet?

Brain tumors are the worst. Both my mother and my mother-in-law died from them. I wish you the best. Run like O.J. Simpson from a crime scene and you will win!

Yeah, Cancer anywhere is the worst. I watched my ex-girlfriend's mother die slowly, painfully over a 5 year period from cancer. I would not wish it on my worst enemy.

On a happier note , Good Luck Alan, and if it makes you feel good, I probably couldn't run 151 miles in 6 weeks let alone 6 days, especially in the freakin desert.

Let myself slip out of shape a bit these last few months.

Well, if no one else is going to claim it.

And good luck with the training and run.  I only drive about 50 miles/week and that seems bad enough.

NO!  I have to ask if they would accept a BIN.

Then they say "Yes, but I'm not sure about the value of the collection.  But it's only old books.  And they're not actually that old.  So, how about £100?"  8O

HMMM....maybe i need to put an instruction clause in there. "if johnhuck comes along looking for any of my old d&d books, don't fall for his 'well how does £10 sound? they're only some old crappy books - nobody will want them, honest guv'" :D
