I have quite few of these.  Need to sell them while they are hot!

Hmm I have dice but I don’t know which ones are desirable. If I post a pic, would someone let me know if any of my old dice are valuable?

I draw the line at collecting... D&D beach towels.

Is there some kind of mineral in old dice that will be needed to cure disease or something?

I don't think it matters which ones they are, as long as they are vintage, and if a complete set, that's even better.  Here's another auction that up at the moment:

Do you have the 6 standard shapes of early Gamescience gem dice in all 7 colors? Because I wonder if that is someone's collecting objective.

Probably somewhere.  Used to buy a lot more dice than I would ever need.  Bought them off of Zocchi himself at conventions, on occasion.

Here are some pictures of some of my gaming dice.  I particularly love the well worn ones, but they roll forever.

I finally found a use for my wife’s old vases in the game room, but maybe I should be selling instead!

According to the 1981 movie Dragonslayer, smashing one of the orange D8s causes dragons to explode. So the utility of the un-inked, hard-edged Gamescience dice is obvious. But if I had any monsters to detonate, I would probably just buy some of the cheap, modern dice that look old school.

Does the same apply to Holmes-era dice? That is, are there any modern manufacturers selling dice that look like the the brightly colored, low-impact plastic of 1970s TSR dice?

There are a few (relatively) small timers on etsy that do. I was talking to one about 2 years ago (he needed some hires pics of a pinkie). If I recall correctly. He ended up making ~100 Holmes Dice and quite a few more than that of Mentzer Dice. He intentionally made them all recgnizable from the authentic.
GameScience has had some over the years that are similar to many different pre-1985 dice from several Sources including the box sets. If they aren't readily identifiable for what they are, some close inspection of the sprues will reveal them. Dice Maniacs Club will have that info.

That's what I have off of the top of me head (that still badly needs a haircut ;)  )

Dbartman, if you sort those into sets I'll check mine and see if I have any that would complete them.
The only dice I value are the 6 sideds I used to use with a buddy of mine when we picked up trolls on Friday/Saturday nights. We had two identical pairs, one normal and one with 5 and 2's and one with all 6's. We'd play drinking games based on craps and pass the special dice to each other, but pass the regular ones to the girls. Had to get VERY creative about passing them surreptitiously if we weren't sitting next to each other. Those will eventually go to my older son and be enshrined in the family collectibles case.
Well, wait, there is my original orange d20 too. It's a d20 marble now, but the memories...........

I've got a 2-3-3-4-4-5 six sided dice which always befuddled me in my collection. But these pictures are great, my wife would never go for the vases :D
I've got my, very modest, dice collection in an faux-leather shaving kit case that I've had forever. My daughters have small cloth dice bags, but they only have a single set each - my oldest might have more as she's DMed some 1e and 5e.
