lol top man :)

i'm just really pleased for Tim really that the auctions managed to raise some $. the PHB went for way more than i expected. that was about the only surprise for me, but well, as long as everyone is happy, thats the main thing!

now if we could just get paul to auction our stuff too! :)

Are we nearly there yet?

Stormie,

mind to publish the final prices of the items? At least the more representative ones - just to make us drool, you know.

I got a couple which I didn't expect. But nothing I really wanted.

If I got Gary to sign my PHB "To John, 1st one sold in the UK", how much do you think it would fetch? 8O

Anyone got a contact address? I have a business proposition...

Too late...I just emailed Gary and asked if he had a BIN in mind to do the same to mine...

Someone sniped the X1???  8O   Sheesh, I saw more than zero bidders and I backed off.  I don't need a signature that badly.  I think more than a little craziness hit this auction at the end...

Will probably end up costing more in PayPal and sniping fees.

Oh, sorry John.  That wasn't a shot at you and your most excellent sniping abilities so much as a profound, deep-rooted hatred of X1.

One of the first modules we played, the DM (my older brother) was quite new.  The sea voyage to the island was the most boring couple of hours of my life.  After all, I had more important things to do, like track down "Bargle"...

I've never actually played or read it.  And probably never will now!

I wonder if I had bid $194.94 on that GenCon program if the person that won would have outbid me at that price? :D

It makes me smile that someone who uses a sniping program to outbid at the last second, ended up paying more than $50 more for a program than they would have if I hadn't bid that much.

I managed to get outbid on everything save the Gangbusters box.  Even tried some last minute snipes to no avail.  Just waiting on an invoice for shipping now, on a side note does anyone remember what dice(types) actually came with the early Gangbusters sets?

Have been in at least one very silly auction in that context: opening price of $75 and a grand total of two bids, I think; $400 and $450+ (mine, to win), both snipes, IIRC.

Could say the other bidder cost me $330, but I wasn't complaining (too much). :)

Nice! I really laughed when your snipes both beat me for $.05 each. I actually bid on both of them for a couple of reasons, but primarly I wanted to win something, which I did anyway. I also wanted to make sure that everything got sold. I just couldn't see Paul relisting the Tim Jardini collection lot 070 through 075 for an old X1, a fantasy calendar from 1983, and 3 dragon magazines 147, 160, and 161. It would have been kind of silly.   One other notable thing about last nights auctions though, is that it certainly has electrified this board. Lots of action the last 12 hours with some good posts and some visits from folks we haven't heard from in awhile. :D

i think its just nice to have a piece of the TSR history just for yourself. it might only be an X1 or whatever....but there will always be a lil more to it than that - thats the way i look at it anyway. i can't wait to get that R-1!

c'mon stormy lad, get your finger out and invoice me! :)
