Hi guys---

Rob Kuntz and Tadashi and I were contacted back at GenCon by a team filming a gaming documentary.  I just spoke with them again yesterday, and had an interesting idea I'd like to float by the members:  would any you be interested in showcasing some of your rarities for the film, if the crew wanted to ping you for such?

I'm thinking that it would be great to be able to point these guys to the Acaeum's key collectors/collections, in order to be able to showcase the real 30th anniversary history of D&D vs. that crappy book that WotC put together:  let them film pre-pub tourneys, 1st print box sets, Warrior of Mars, original manuscripts, etc., etc., etc.

What are your thoughts on all of this?

*yay*. Nice idea...
Especially in the context of "in order to be able to showcase the real 30th anniversary history of D&D vs. that crappy book that WotC put together".
(Even though I've never seen that, of course! *g*).

A lot of the good stuff is in the "unseen" material, I'm sure. Would love to see them tie that into the history, if possible, despite being be a serious challenge for video media.

Are they paying free flights?

*dangles pretty piccie in a futile attempt*

*chuckles*. Sorry, Allan...

Would be really nice if this could work out, even though they'd prolly be able to get a pretty decent perspective just by stopping around at Paul's, Mike's (1, 2, 3 or more...), Frank's (don't forget JG!), etc. :D

What's the piccie from, David?

This week I've been mostly eating . . . chicken and wild rice soup.

Hmmm, well, I got a voicemail back saying that they wanted to speak with Tadashi, so perhaps they're not interested in filming legendary gaming materials long with legendary game designers....

I'll keep you posted as things develop in the meanwhile.
