Has anyone here ever dealt with a seller named Scarlett Empress?

I was working a multi-auction deal with this seller's items and I got burned when my combined shipping deal was wrecked by last second bidders.  It got left holding the bag for shipping cost on one item.

The bidder on two of these auctions was named Se3ker.  Although he had a feedback of 1000, he is "no longer a registered Ebay user." (Or words to that effect.)

Now, Scarlett Empress has sent me second chance offers on all three of the items I lost.

What do you think?  Anyone know this seller's reputation?

I don't know anything about the seller, but the bidder that you refer to se3ker is the guy who wanted me to photocopy and sell to him the Jade Hare module I was selling a couple week.

50 bloody pages of hilarious reading.. Thank you, thank you.. I only read it all cause I was curious about that maxwell person that had posted over at DF.. Little did I know what I was in for.

I've had only one problem on ebay so far to date. Of course I rarely use ebay as I prefer a number of used dealers I know fairly well for most stuff I buy or sometimes sheer blind luck.

The one problem I had is when a seller I had bought from started playing the delay game with me. I resolved it when a friend of mine with the sellers local police department went by his house and asked him why he was trying to jerk around and stiff a cop? Amazingly enough the seller paid for additional fees and made sure it was sent overnight to me  .

Well, a month and a half later, I have my Wilmark stuff. I had to send back a few items, which were misrepresented and/or damaged, for replacements. Horrendously slow shipping. I was promised a set of Character Sheets to make up for the return shipping cost and the time/effort. Those didn't materialize. The amusing part is, the seller said that he originally was delayed in shipping because the author's mother was sick, so he didn't feel right asking for an autograph for the copy he auctioned as autographed.
He IS the phuqing author................

This thread needed a bump, and I've got just the item for it...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... %3AIT&rd=1

It looks harmless on the surface, in fact...I'd been watching it for a while...potential re-sale lot. Notice it's only at $1.00 bid...hmm...then I check the S/H charges...HOLY CRAP!!! Of course, the a-hole puts in the disclaimer "buyer agrees to pay all s/h charges"....what a freaking crook! No response to my queries. I've never reported anybody yet to Ebay for excessive S/H, figuring that the money will be lost in the final price...but this one demands that I do so. Unbelievable!

Good spot on that one.

I wonder why people think they can "beat" eBay? Almost certainly, this genius thinks he is the first person to come up with the "perfect" solution ... it's just pathetic.

Living amidst a gambling environment has made me very familiar with this type of mind-set. I see it every day from people who think they can beat the casinos.

Anyway, it should definitely be reported; it's a blatant violation.

Actually, I think the seller just made a mistake when inputing his info.  Either he messed up the weight or forgot a decimal point when entering in his handling charges.  But, if you look at his other auctions, you will see that the ship charges are normal and reasonable.  Honest mistake here . . . he's probably actually going to end up hurting himself by getting no bidders.

If that's the case, then I withdraw the comment as it applies to this particular seller. However, I still think the no-one-will-notice-my-outrageous-shipping-charges scam is really in style right now on eBay.

You're definitely right . . . However, I've seen more than a few occassions where a new seller has messed up the ship calculator . . . once the "extra" charges start hitting $40.00 + you have to wonder.  This guy has them at over $100 more . . .

I've actually scored a few good deals by inquiring if the ship charges are correct and the seller then replying they weren't and quoting me the actual price.  On the one hand, I feel a little guilty bidding and getting a great deal while others might be backing off because of the high shipping.  On the other hand . . . my sending the question was a beacon light warning for them to "End" the auction because of an error.  I can only do so much if the seller can't think for themselves (even if they are a newbie)  :D

This seller is probably an OK guy.

I call the type of person who wants to "beat" Ebay a "genius."

A "genius" (with sarcasm) is a guy who thinks the rest of us are abominably stupid for following the rules...so he feels OK with breaking them.  He thinks the rest of us are suckers and he is soooo clever.

There was a "genius" guy who I met at our local game store, playing the game, Necromunda (underhive gang skirmish rules for Warhammer 40,000).

This guy was classic "genius."  For instance, in Necromunda, literal line of sight (from the miniature's head) is part of the rules.  This guy did not glue-on the arms to his plastic miniatures so that he could move the arms straight up...out of sight...until his turn.

Another time, he brought a "gang" of adeptus arbites police officers, in armor and with special stats, to the weekend battles.  He insisted that because White Dwarf had published rules for this squad, it was a legal "gang."  (Starting points for a gang was 1000...a squad of adeptus arbites would have cost about 1600 points.)

The problem for him was, like any other "genius," was that he was more concerned with beating the rules...and seeming smart...than actually being smart.  My legal gangs routinely massacred his cheater-monkey crap.  Not even close...not even particularly challenging.

I introduced his armored troopers to the concept of shotguns and "knock-back" and the inadvisablity of standing in the open on high catwalks.

He accused me of cheating every time.  I would then show him the rulebook and the legal rules he had not bothered to master.  He considered it unfair that someone would not be stunned by his "genius."  He finally stormed out one Saturday night (after another massacre) and never returned to the Necromunda tournaments.

The last time I heard of him, one of my buddies had met him in a Magic: The Gathering tournament at the WOTC world headquarters, in Seattle's U-District.  And, yes, this "genius" had a genius plan for beating that game as well.  He stormed out of the tournament when my friend beat him handily......claiming that my friend was violating "the spirit of the rules."

My guess is that roughly 10% of the people on Ebay would qualify for the title of "genius."  It is my hunch that these people account for as much as 90% of the negative experiences to be had there.

I prefer the phrase 'dick head' to discribe these people. I can see that your word is more tactful.
