Generally this is correct. And definitely if you make a copy. However, if the photocopy was made by the owner of the copyright, and then sold to the public you can then sell that same copy you bought (but you can't make new copies). An example would be old zines wherein all the copies are photocopies. I'm not sure about the case where the copyright owner gives you a photocopy.

Reading through, I'm wondering why we've not seen ETC/TGE aka Jonb(random number) recently. It must be two years now since we shafted him last.

And where did Kevin I-hate-you-guys-at-Acaeum go? I think he called himself keepontheborderlands.

And Maxipad, what happened to Mr. Spliff?

Where have all our villains gone?  :(

It was actually a year ago this past July. :)   I have heard though that someone believes that he is actually back on Ebay, but at this point is staying away from the RPG market, at least for now......
FWIW, I have actually seen the evidence for this and I also believe that it is him.  I suspect that he is just waiting to really build up his feedback before he attempts to come back into the RPG fray.

I think that his parents took away his computer privilges for being a bad boy.  Kind of like the kid I dealt with yesterday.

What do you recommend to cause the most controversy?  Should I

A. Quadruple all my shipping prices
B.  Change all my shop prices to exactly double the highest ebay price
C. Not mail out any orders placed between now and Christmas
D. Demand everyone now refer to me as "Platinum Plus Powerseller Reindeergamez" and email the general population of ebay daily
or
D. Post a picture of myself in a chainmail bikini and let everyone know that all 22 of my packers and listers have come down with hemmroids at the same time.

???

Oh the choices!   :P    :P

"I guess in retrospect, based on the emails he sent me last night and today, that I figured that he was young, just not quite that young.  Looking back even further it really makes me wonder exactly how old Creepontheborderlands is, as the conversations were actually very similar in nature.[/quote]"

It's a crazy old world, ain't it? I often wonder just who or what the hell I'm talking to as the level of writing skill and knowledge seems to vary widely. My other half teaches drama at grades 9 through 12, and sometimes I help with papers and whatnot, and it scares the crap out of me just how minimal their language skills are.

I am definitely more of a lurker than a contributor, but, it's true- you guys haven't been rattling any cages or jabbing sleeping owlbears (with a pointy stick) lately....

You forgot something:

E. Have a monthly email sent out to all of your previous buyers with a whole bunch of illegal photocopies that you are trying to auction off.  Then when someone questions you about the items claim that these photocopies were not actually made by you and that you just found them in a large lot that you recently purchased.

Wait, I have two more!

G. Make sure that no more than 50% of the total feedback that you leave  is positive.  A minimum of 50% feedback must be negative and contain both lies and rude comments.  If at any point that the negative to positive feedback ratio is in danger of going beyond 50% positive either leave a neg anyway regardless of the transaction or just leave nothing at all.

H.  Ridicule and leave negative feedback for all of your buyers who get upset at the fact that you consistantly don't mail your auction items out for 3+ weeks after the auction ends.  Also, claim that anyone that leaves negative feedback for items that are eventually received no matter how long it takes or what condition that they arrive in should be kicked off of Ebay.

i.e eBay Feedback Profile for creep1962

and

eBay Feedback Profile for creep1962

Now you can have:

I. All of the above.

Realistically, I vote for "C."

The rest seem like poor business choices, but they don't screw over the paying customer.

True, while it would be fun to run my business into total failure and prance around armored, the ultimate goal should always be to ruin as many people's holiday as possible....

Your opinion on a transaction:

Won an auction, paid promptly through paypal, waited three weeks and item never shows up. Email seller about the shipping statis of item and get the reply: Item was shipped shortly after I paid, I should have recieved it by now... The online usps site only shows some sort of electronic intent to ship, no confirmation of acceptance to the post office or able to track. The seller says that it will only show when delivered which it does not show as being delivered. Seller said if I wanted tracking I should have paid for it and basically they are not responsible for lost items ( although it does show that they purchased insurance).

So I open a paypal claim and seller issues a full refund within 24 hours, then they send me a reminder to pay?

OK.  That was pretty funny.

I am, however, very curious about the chainmail bikini picture.

In my experience, the USPS tracker system sometimes reads "notified to be ready to receive" (or something like that) until the day the item is delivered.  I have had it say that for as long as three weeks before an item actually appeared.

I always figure the wait time is part of the game.

Chaosium lost my order....acknowledged that I had, indeed, paid a month or so before....re-sent my order....asked me three weeks later if I had received it yet...no, I hadn't...and sent a third order.

They also tossed in a couple of T-shirts to say "sorry."

All in good fun.   8)

I've done a lot of business with C, both privately and on eBay, and I've never had any problems. I'm sure there are those of you who could say the same for Tanga's Wop Shop and Tight Ass Games who seem to be real bandits. Maybe its an international thing. The Kings really try to f*ck over the Brits. Over here (in the UK) Cougie provides a first class service. I've traded hundreds of pounds with him.
