I E-mailed this person several times with no reply and then I finally issued a paypal dispute.  Got a reply 60 minutes after I filed the dispute claiming the item was on the way

A regular customer of mine is going through hoops getting paypal to deal with this clown.  I now notice that his new items he's listing that he's not accepting paypal.  Sounds like he's gone down the wrong path big time!  Just thought I'd get his name out there since he has alot of RPG books listed, at seemingly good prices.

76 negatives in the last month.    I think he's toast.

Where I go to find things, it's the SKINNY people who have the problems you describe; them and their kids/rugrats!

I saw a guy today...no lie...whose huge stomach knocked over the contents of a table when he tried to walk by another huge guy and there was no room, his belly swung over the table and knocked a bunch of heroclix off there were part of a display. Seriously, some of these dudes need to miss the buffet line at least once a week...

Seriously--I do agree with you on several points; I go crazy when someone plays Monopoly with me, for example, and eats buttered popcorn, and I get nervous when they put down their glass of diet Coke next to the board.  (I also collect versions of Monopoly as well as D&D.)

My personal freakout is someone bringing drinks into my office...at anytime I can have something valuable on my desk, and there isn't anywhere else to set a cup/glass, and I'm a clumsy SOB.

I almost feel bad about this now, but we used to have mini competition to find the world's fattest gamer at every gencon. Way back in the mid 80s there was some dude that had to be every bit of 500 large. He took up two and half seats at the auction. He was the "winner" for several years then disappeared. He wasn't very old, so I hope he didn't run into health issues.

Anyway, it is hard to fight that fat gamer stereotype. Conventions were loaded with our friendly large gamers. I am not trying to judge, just making an observation.

I am not going to malign the food and gaming thing, though. Who didn't bring loads of junk food to nightly gaming sessions. And we ate like kings at conventions...always hitting the primo restaurants in the area.

But our group of about 12 guys has only one guy who could be considered heavy - but in no way obese or fat. Most of us played sports, and still do. We had several runners, etc.

Hmmmm. . . . and there's a problem with bringing large quantities of junk food?   Where did the "fat gamer" stereotype come from and when?  I always heard the stereotype players were the "nerds and geeks" crowd; the types that, yes, weren't into school sports, wore glasses, but were either on the honor roll or were considered somewhat offbeat.

The geek thing was/is based in reality. Far as I could tell, few gamers were into sports or athletics. But in general seemed to be solid students. I played sports and was a crappy student...not to say I wasn't geekish...it was high school afterall.

Ok, now I see--although the groups I did play with were just the opposite; I was the largest (but not much over 220-240 lbs.!) and almost all of the other players were thin.  I guess where I played was the exception to the "rule".  I can't answer to the "geekiness" of the group, although I remember a lot of us, including myself, wore glasses--even the only two or three girls in the group wore glasses.  The one thing was, size didn't matter and neither did popularity;  this was a pretty diverse bunch (with only the spirit squad [cheerleaders and pom-pons] not represented at some point . . . & I could easily imagine at least three or four members off the spirit squads alone who would've fit in perfectly, even without being geeks.  Even two of our faculty sponsors played several times that I remember.  {Why couldn't the spirit squad members play?  Their practices were the same times as our game days     }

Am I missing something?
