After a short interim (ahem), we finally have a new site update posted.  It should be visible to you within the next hour.

There's a few things worthy of note:

1. The new valuations should be considered *beta*.  As mentioned in the Acaeum Valuation Board post, many recent auction sales have not yet been incorporated into the data, which will affect some values dramatically (mostly, the items that don't have a lot of auction data in the first place).

2. The Valuation Board itself should be considered "beta".  We're in a trial phase, and I'm hoping it works out.

3. The Dungeon Masters Guide sequence should be considered "beta" (see a pattern here?).  I'd like to solicit further comments and research regarding the prints, to make sure all our data is correct.  Additionally, I've still got some work to do to make the print listings a little more coherent.  As it stands, I think it's still difficult to easily tell what printing you have.  Some rewrites on my end are probably in order.

4. Several of the site essays need to be updated / edited / expanded, in light of the new grading system, Indexes, etc.  I haven't found the time to do it yet, but it will be coming shortly.  Along those lines, I plan on doing a pass through most of the recorded auction sales, and adjusting the conditions to fall in line with the new scale.  In other words, "EX" will become "F", "M" will probably become "NM" (in most cases), etc.  While not totally accurate -- I understand that some Mint copies out there truly are Mint, even under the new scale -- I think it's more fair to lower those conditions across the board.  We'll see... I may change my mind on this.

5. Our spam filter on the site has been a bit too aggressive as of late, and we've recently rescued quite a few questions and submissions from the past few months.  I feel confident that we've gotten them all, but haven't had time to reply to them yet.  Rest assured that I'll reply to them as soon as possible.

6. On the subject of submissions, with very few exceptions, we've caught up the archives to this past August.  That's the good news.  The bad news is that there's been a lot of submissions between last August and now.  :(

I plan on getting another update out at the end of March, which will address most of these concerns.  The reason for publishing this update now, even though I consider it "unfinished", is that I also feel that's it's just been too damn long since an update was published.  There was a danger that I was never going to publish if I kept waiting for everything to be perfect....

Unfortunately, I'm going to be out of the country until the beginning of March, so I won't be able to answer any questions or tackle problems until then.  Please be patient, and enjoy the update, in spite of the rough edges.

Regards,

Foul

Hey Foul,  Just to let you know, I really like the site enhancement, I think it is excellent.

Thanks Foulfoot for the great update! This site is a big part of why I enjoy collecting so much.
