The reality is that this round is now entering it's fifth year. If I remember correctly the initial timeline was 2019 at the latest.   Is there anything I can do to help push this along with another artist? Do we have a short list of other artists?

For the record If Clyde comes back at the same time I am happy to pay for both. My worry is Clyde is not getting any younger ... and neither am I  :)

The committee is not happy with the delay either.  We're considering other options, but there's no news to report at this time.  There's nothing anyone can do that I can think of.   :?

Doug Rhea originally commissioned this from Mr Caldwell if I remember, has Doug's passing changed anything? It's a shame he didn't get to see it (whatever it ends up being like). Is Doug's family still continuing with the commission?

Did not realise that.  My condolences to his family.

It's a fair criticism.  Part of the problem is that the committee was originally set up to line up old-school artists to produce a classic piece of large artwork which could be copied into limited-edition giclee prints, thus making quality D&D art more available to everyone on these forums.  We worked relatively quickly to produce the first three prints.  The availability and affordability of additional old-school artists that we like and can work with has thinned.  We've had plenty of suggestions; like do another print with one of the first three artists or go with a younger, new artist, and so far, we're not feeling it.  Sure, we can get lots of people to agree to an artist, but getting 75 to agree, really the minimum to make it worthwhile, is challenging.

Our committee has no qualms about anyone else organizing an art project of their own.  It's not impossible, but likely not as easy as you think.  We got lucky on several occasions.  We had a great team.

While we've slowed significantly, we haven't given up yet.  I would say there's a decent chance we won't coordinate another art project, but it could happen.  If we go with someone, it'll be good.  I've tried to be responsive to inquiries so people can make up their own minds about what to do.  Hopefully this helps with expectations if nothing else.   8)

Happy to wait - of course love to conclude...

Would people be interested in Ann Stokes commissioned artwork I am happy to contact Ann and see about costs etc..

This is NOT to replace the current art commission - possibly run along side it...

Hi All,

I've been absent for a while (challenging couple of years). But still have my passion for RPGs and collecting. I see I am still on the loyalty list after five years  :D  I remain interested and happy to stay on the list. Ann Stokes work wonderful, so I, for one, would be interested.

Back in July I wrote to the committee indicating that I was no longer interested in pursuing a fourth Limited Edition artwork for several reasons.  First, Clyde was not responding quickly to Doug's interests.  There were constant delays.  Second, Doug had a deal with Clyde to actually purchase the print and would allow us to make prints from it.  It was Doug's financial help that made working with Clyde financially possible for the Acaeum community to have artwork from him.  Third, we explored other artists like Denis Beauvais, but there were complicating factors I'm not going to explain.  Fourth, we didn't want to do a project for the sake of doing a project, like contracting with a former LE print artist again.  It's a lot of work, and frankly, a financial risk on our part as we cut our margins close.  These projects were never about making money; they were always about our community getting classic D&D old-school artists to create art we could afford by banding together.

We produced three fantastic prints, and that's a good amount for any man cave.  As to my e-mail to the committee, my feelings were confirmed.  So, it is with sad resignation that our committee isn't pursuing anymore limited edition print projects.  If anyone else wants to take the lead, go for it.  I'll even give free advice if you want it.  But these projects are like herding cats.  What made this work was our excellent committee.  I am grateful to them all, especially Badmike, who did the shipping for all prints not picked up at the NTX.  It was an honor and privilege to work alongside these fellow gamers:

The committee did an amazing job - us cats are crazy to herd ;-)

HUGE THANKS to those that organised every project - without your dedication we would not have been able to get the artwork prints we have received.

THANK YOU!

best regards and best wishes
