Hi Simrion,

I did not see the eBay listing related to the reference from WorthPoint, but thought you might be interested in this link:

I would be up for choosing erol otus or another artist for this one but just moving caldwell back to the next art project or until it happens.  I don't see a reason to cancel it but it doesn't necessarily have to hold up another artist if they have time to do something sooner.

I've always wanted a better print (or the original art lol) for the erol otus cover of the lost caverns of tsojcanth.  I have mixed feelings about duplicating older artwork unless it's been lost, but if not that then an alternate angle or a different part of the same combat could be interesting.

Otus's design of behir is the only one I really like, probably because of the artwork.  Even the monster stats in the same module have a different monster design.  The coiled horns from his interpretation is the only one I know of, all the others have straight horns.  Something about it just seems much more unique of a monster vs others that look like centipedes or slightly modified dragons.  What's funny is looking back at the module, the one in the caverns actually has a name and is called out as particularly smart.

I think it's fair to ask what is taking so long.  This project was started in 2017 and was originally slated for completion in 2018.  I think it's entirely reasonable to have a commission done within the timeframe that has transpired.  I would love to have a Caldwell piece, but I think there should be some pressure, or at least questions asked as to what the expected completion date will be.  If we can't get a commitment, then perhaps we should consider another artist.  We are not looking for a freebie here.

I thought the art was only supposed to exist in the game, so that each of us could hang it up somewhere in our respective campaign worlds. What else could explain ten pages of discussion over three years about a figment of the imagination? Being unconstrained by reality, I was planning to make mine a collaboration between Leonardo da Vinci & Frank Frazetta, showing the greats of RPG publishing depicted as dogs playing poker.

Robocop? Probably not the origin of the phrase, but the best.

I set aside about $200 USD in 2017 for this bad boy.  Now that it’s 2021, will there be any inflation adjustment ;)?

I agree and yes, that's a cool idea!

I'm not on the list, and don't have the paltry amount to ask to be on the list anyways, but EO is getting on a bit and IMO is one of the most distinctive and talented of the artists from way back when. I don't get a vote, but if I did, I'd go for EO, or ask Tom Wham if he'll do an Acaeum plushie.   :D

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

I wonder how EO would feel about being the Chick-fil-A of the fantasy art market?

I bet EO would do a great job of depicting a Chick fil a in Stoneheim, Pomarj.
