Another 3rd (2nd) printing of Palace of the Vampire Queen.

cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIte ... RK:MEBI:IT

Anyone know the seller? Any idea if it's authentic?

Grodog... You badly wanted that Booty and the Beasts, huh?

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

Antbody notice the distinct color difference in the cover on this one? Much more a dull yellow as opposed to the that afooland his$ is getting, No?  This one up now so much more closely resembles the one on this site.  :?

How much of that is down to the camera and lighting? Maybe we should find a universal colour chart we can all get ahold of, like a paint colour chart, and then we can compare and post the findings.

I would imagine that the coloration difference could be due to the picture/lighting, but I don't know, the one that was being sold by "bella" certainly looked a lot more Neon yellow, which I don't know if it would be a side effect of the picture/lighting or not. I would think that if the one up for sale right now, if in fact both of them end up being legitimate, that the one up for auction now would looks the way that it does as a result of sun fading, rather than the actual picture/lighting quality. Just my theory.

Agreeing with this theory. In fact, we are seeing un-calibrated photos and digital pictures without any kind of possibility of evaluating the originals without an universal color scale, such as the one from pantone, employed by years in the graphic arts industry.

Remember that for the majority of people outside the printing/graphic field, it's enough to say "blue" instead of Pantone 072 - they have absolutely no ideas that the colors between computer systems and various input devices like scanners and digital cameras get heavily mismatched.

Bella's copy was decidedly neon yellow, because it was - if I remember well - photographed with a strong light but not flash, and the reverse happens in the case of this auction - poor light and flash. The result is that the flash highlighted (and burnt into white) the details of the plastic packaging, and left in shadows the cover.

Just my .02

My copy is a lot brighter than this one. Was there a difference in the colour of the paper cover between the first edition and this one?
My ziplock appear to be heavier duty, too.

I've been looking for awhile, and really wish now that I'd noticed it in that large iSoldIT lot from last month or so (the one that I only noticed the Phoenix Mines of Keriadev, but missed Booty and some other key items...):  I could have made the money back on Booty by selling the other stuff.  Not so this time, I'm sure ;)

That said, the copies of Booty that I've seen auction individually in the past year or so went for $200-300 each, so this one's still not vastly over-priced.  In fact, at the price, I'm very surprised that I managed to win it---especially given the discussions about using bids from me, Frank, Aneoth, cougar, etc. as mini search engines ;)

No-one said you had to snipe to win. :P

That timely reminder probably means the Abbey of Calthonwey is lost once again, however... (Good luck ;))

Boxed set that is not an OCE but I have to question at what point it is better to sell without the box....
