The seller ended this listing early because of an error in the listing. :?:

Someone get to them with an offer they couldn't refuse?

Or persuade them that the lot should be split?

wasn't me! its either he has now realised the value of what he is selling and is going to split or he WAS getting rid of a lot of copied stuff, and now as most of acaeum etc has been battering him with e-mails, he sees it as a sorta copyright-infringement risk and withdrew it for that....

shame really cos it was shaping up to be a lot of fun! :D

Or else the very first thing I posted, yesterday;

harami2000 wrote:Worse; because so many people have been pestering, they're thinking of stopping and splitting the auction up into smaller lots.

(One thing having questionable "reference/zero-value" material within a batch; another thing entirely if that's a whole auction...).

Still cannot understand why it was "smart" to push along the bidding when there were nine days to go, and plenty of questions to ask.

£76 I see, John...

*shrugs*

Hey, whatever...

Will see what happens (if anything).

Definitely not smart. :?   I am an advocate of sniping to win.  But you know I like bidding on some of the rarer items (remember ST1 :?: ).  And if I'm pretty sure I don't have a chance of being there at the end, I sometimes like to get things off to an early start.

As I said previously, I like to think of it as being a pacesetter in a long distance run.  And I never bid more than I would be prepared to pay.  So if I push the pace too far and end up winning, result! :D

It's an unusual strategy (perhaps).  But it's mine and I love it.

Despite some of my voiced concerns, my gut reaction was and is that the seller is genuine.  But I wouldn't have pushed the bidding too much higher without further answers and scans.

Not so fast.  I now have a foolproof method of asking the question without getting found out.  Use the "contact member" button on the member profile page.  That way they don't get the option to display the question and answer on the auction page.

Doh!  I've just given my secret away.  Damn you bclarkie!  :D

I claim complete innocence..... 8)

or is it incompetence? :?

I keep getting those two confused...

Seller never indicated to me that bidders Outside of the UK were welcome. In fact, my first attempts to bid (Made before my first related post on the Acaeum forum) were flatly rebuked with no explanation except an E-Bay automatically generated notice: "Seller does not ship to your Geographical area" or something on those lines....

You can set this in your preferences.  Along with not allowing bidders with -1, -2, or -3 feedback.

The seller probably had set up in their sellers options to prevent bids from outside the UK, which you can do. There is hope though :D , as Alan mentioned above, the seller is planning on relisting. Also, if you look at the now closed auction, there was a US bidder who bid, which leads me to believe that the seller eventually removed the ship only to the UK specification in their sellers options.

Yes, and that is to prevent whitednd & billj752 from bidding on your auctions. :D

This might well be a case of eBay ignorance.  Most of the ultra-rares are photocopies! (Legal photocopies of the product by the copyright holder).  Unless you're inclined to believe they typed out each original, a photocopying process was involved, and a printing press would be far too expensive for this sort of thing.
