Well, now I feel a little better about it:

Q: Hello, What do you mean by photocopy stapled to form a book? Are these homemade items ones that you've photocopied from the original sources? Thank you, bombadil-tom          Answered on Mar-02-05

A: The Tegel Manor book and the Installment I books are thin cream paper, slightly rough, and the covers are tan and orangy red thicker paper, almost card. Everyting is printed on both sides. The Dungeoneers Magazines are really thin white paper, like thick newspaper, with the same coloured paper/card covers also printed on both sides or each page. The Manual of Aurania is cream coloured thick typing paper with a yellow paper cover. Its printed on both sides of the pages. The Wizards Aid is crispy new smooth white paper with a tan card cover. Its printed both sides. The Palace of the Vampire Queen is loose sheets in a ziplock bag with a cardboard hanger at the top. There is a bright yellow paper cover with a drawing and title on it, and then about a dozen white sheets of paper behind it. These are also printed on both sides. The staples in the Dungeoneers Books and the Palace of the Vampire Queen look like they are starting to rust. The others are not so rusty. I hope this has helped.

Staples in the PotVQ?? (on the hanger? and where did a "hanger" come from... *looks at tag on front*).

Heh; well sounds like they just described two genuine copies of The Dungeoneer (albeit not valuable ones), anyhow.

=

Thanks for the copy response.

I think that those are the pages of PVQ spread out on a carpet to take a group picture. I think this is a genuine copy of a third print PVQ. Someone stapled it at some point in the past and perhaps this guy removed that staple to get this photo, but otherwise it looks to be complete and in good condition.

But, that is jusy my uniformed opinion..... not having a copy myself to compair this picture with makes my opinion only that... and as I said uninformed as well....

Why does it look like there's a staple on seven of the pages, if so, rather than just staple holes; and not on the others?

(There's two pages on the bottom-right staple page, for example; giving a total of at least 14).

I can see the folds at top-left on most, though.

Where's this page?

"White. Front (Intro page) has scrollwork on the outside border"

(And other the other pages really so plain, compared with the 1st print?).

Fantastic Reaches / Sword of Hope might be worth something too but I don't do JG.

Fantastic Reaches can fetch a bit, Sword of Hope usually doesn't.

Isn't 25 pounds to ship in-country excessive?

Imagine if you were #1 in a bidding group on this one.........

I have Aurania and Wizard's aide, if someone can get more details, I'd be happy to check my copies and compare them.

I think it's a safe bet that the items are originals. I imagine the seller sees cheap paper, compares them to other mags/games, and assumes they are photocopies. I know I wouldn't be bidding on them without a LOT more info.

FWIW, this is the second 2nd print/3rd print on eBay. If anyone has the info on who won the other one that ended not too long ago, you could contact the person and get details on the contents.

Ridiculous.  Will be questioning that.  Especially at Standard parcel rate.

I'm waiting for that info. Without it, I won't be there at the end. Even if no one else bids. If you get my drift.

Huckmeister, grill the guy for details. I see that there appears to be a sticker on the header AND on the bag, both look like price tags. Find out if they are in dollars or pounds. I highly doubt it was originally sold in the UK, perhaps one sticker is the original US store and the other is a UK store. The header question is easy, a retailer put it there, probably stapling it thru the bag so the contents could not be perused or stolen.

Original black folder was sold in the UK via Games Workshop and possibly others. Review as noted in NFB, previously ;)

Dunno 'bout the 2nd/3rd...

Dun worry. Was one of the first items on my list, pointing him at the parcel & insurance rates.

He now states excess refunded and no handling fee.

Ships ONLY to the UK!! :? 8O   :(

8O YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8O

Sorry I was going through all kinds of emotions when I read that notice on the listing. Read below and see the Link to better understand why....

Take a close look at some of the loose items in the red folder

"A folder full of home made adventures, maps and manuscripts"

and check out the lower right picture showing a yellowish colored item in particular!!

(loose photocopied pages in a ziplock bag) he says....

Can it be the real thing?!?! 8O Is that what I think it is, or is it as stated, simply a photocopy? :?:

cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem& ... Track=true

There are several other rare and tasty morsels as well.

Lot also includes a nice looking White Dwarf 2, a White Dwarf 6, a Coverless Jade Hare, and a Tegal Manor!!

This one is going to get ugly, if he decides to ship outside the UK.

Myabe I am being naive, but does anybody else have a problem with the coloration of the title page of PotVQ. I don't know it seems to be too bright of a green to seem like its authentic. When I compare it to the 3rd printing here it just seems too neon for me. I don't know, maybe I am just being paranoid.

Perhaps this response covers that?

"The pages of type written text are little typed articles. Some are explanations of character's background, some are new magical items, one set of papers has a plain sheet with 'spellbook' typed on the front..."

Hrmm... You not bidding £150+, yet?

I don't know the sources of these, but they are all typed onto good quality paper with the watermark 'Parker' through it.

This is part of the post on that PoVQ. Hmmmmmm.

Has the seller forgot to check the tickbox which keeps their email unseen on anyone's responses.  Just to add to the paranoia.

I would like a real name rather than technictoys or [email protected] so I know who I'm dealing with.  The item location of UK doesn't help either.

Latest response "I can't get my Yahoo Mail to accept attachments. Ist there a Yahoo Group I can upload a file to (zip file 2mb) and you could then download it?"

I notice that the 1 feedback relates to some TOON RPG items.  So the seller has some RPG interest.  Time to start scrutinising his/her bid history and feedback in a bit more detail.

Hmmm, not much there except Lego.

But despite all that, still bidding. :D

The seller ended this listing early because of an error in the listing.  :?:

Someone get to them with an offer they couldn't refuse?

Or persuade them that the lot should be split?
