This link should give you a smile, anyhow, in the context of that $120 R3. *points to third post*

Wow, talk about hind site being 20/20.  Imagine that investment, 750% to 1000% increase over 10 years. I think that I am going to be sick.

Anybody know who 'David S. "DIESEL" La Force' is?  Or why he'd be signing 1st Ed. DMGs in 2001?  :?

David S. La Force did original artwork in the 1st Edition DMs Guide along with many other TSR items from the early days.

4th print box set with some early supplements.  Books look nice, but the box has tape, and, well, looks kind of weird unless it's just a B/W scan.

And by the way, what's that "index"?

It helps if he wins the auction and then has the Index.  8)

I too think it is worth a bid to find out!

Index is home-made and of curiosity value only. The cover, however, is of interest, and confirms what might be expected given that printing.

ADVANCED D&D Dungeon Masters Guide 1979 TSR GAMES Book

D&D Dungeon Masters Guide | eBay

4 days left with an opening bid of $2.00.  Looks like an early printing but the pics are small.  Possible "D" in "Advanced" running of the edge of the banner and yellow/orange endpapers.

Nope.  While the "D" runs off the banner on several printings to a minor degree, the occurance specified in the 1st printing is much more severe than that.  Also this copy is listed as having 240 pages, the earlier printings have only 232.  Unless you're a printing completist like me, it's probably not that interesting. ;)

Here is a question for ya. Why are there less pages in the earlier printings as opposed to the later printings? I have a 1st print DMG and at least at this point have not done a page by page comparison, but is it the font size of the print that causes the extra pages or is it a matter of added content to the later printings? :? Anyone?
