I don't have my boxed set in front of me, and I used to have the ziplock version until I sold it last year for well over $100, but I seem to remember that the ziplock version had an errata sheet, where the boxed version did not. If my memory is correct that would mean the boxed version came first, though the reasoning above sounds perfectly reasonable with the ziplock coming first. Anyone have both handy to check?

I don't have either, but I did see a note in the catalog listing in the back of Sutherland's Armies of the Petal Throne (title?) to the effect that the box set was issued after the ziplock version.

Hah! Thanks for the link - I just recognized that a little metal Mattel dragon I've got is a piece from that game, rather than some random toy ;)

*LOL*

Have been chatting with the seller, although they had to wait until today to recheck the set, IRL.
Variant/later first print, as expected.

Remember to subtract a dollar or so for the clearly listed faults, Frank! :P

Guess I should have asked them NOT to post my question, then.

Ah, well, you guys can fight it out.  I'm not that much of a woody fanatic anyway...

So does that mean I will win this one with my current high bid.

Looks like the auction was pulled, or ended early, or my cut & paste doesn't work...  :?

Try again. Seller isn't taking any offers, anyhow, owing to the circumstances of the sale.

Shouldn't be too far off, IMHO.
Feel free to boost the price as much as you wish: easy enough to sell off a few Rs/RPGAs to cover, if required! ;)

"box has obviously seen better days, and is well worn, with some math scrawled on the box-top in ink, and the top-side flap is missing... The books themselves are also worn but in suprisingly good shape. Book two has 4 pages missing, however, and the extra tables are yellowing around the edges"

Have seen better.

IIRC, one of those I was underbidder on was a very good looking set that was "missing" one book (can't remember if that was the one which was disassembled or not, though, without checking the archives) and had a fine condition, complete box.
Final price would probably have been $650 or thereabouts. Will have a browse to re-check...

Enjoy the sale: I'm with Stephen! :)

Heh..and to think I would have gotten a decent BIN on it if the seller had enough feedback... :)  Oh well, back to the evil schemes.
