It seems to be an intermediate box printing.

I still think the boxes need to be treated separately from the books, unless there's a proven high degree of consistency in box-book combos; otherwise the hybridisation issues get totally out of hand (in addition to the 1st/2nd print "small label" "problem").

If all of those "intermediate" boxes definitely go with OCEs, fair enough, but I wouldn't bet on that.

Is definitely interesting stuff, IMHO, although am sure Alan's hiding in his JG fortress by now with all this OD&D talk! :D

bclarkie wrote:Interestingly enough, I was able to decode most of the writing(3 of the 4 paragraphs at least  ) in the Vol II M&T and the Ref Sheets.

You did better than myself, although it would have helped if I'd clicked the "Larger Picture" link!
Much appreciated :P

*nods*. Could still read that either way, in terms of the book contents although copying that seems to push towards being an OCE (as the seller claims).

Yeah, need to confirm they are indeed 6th (aka "7th" *g*) prints.

Dragons #32, 34, 35
- still only one bid and was slightly high to start, but they do seem to be in fairly decent condition.
If interested, snipe, otherwise <quiltmom> will walk all over you! ;)

If this had been mine and my Mom "threw it out"....

Is matricide legal in any of the fifty states?

Heh, heh... Know what y'mean.

Have been chatting with the seller.
Am told NO (further) BIN offers on any of their D&D stuff, btw.
Hopefully no repeat of Bella getting swamped and stressed out either, then...? :?

They're unfamiliar with the items, so are letting all those auctions run to completion.
Understandable (and beats accepting a $50 offer, IMHO )

Pointed them in this direction, as required, anyhow.

Matricide is not perfectly legal in Italy, too. But I agree with you.
BTW what do you think about that B3 and its condition?
Thanks for any advice
Giorgio

Here's a useful link that explains most of the popular internet shorthand and TLA's (three-letter acronyms):

I think any decent attorney would try for a "temporary insanity" plea.  :D  I still remember when my dad tore my Players Handbook in half down the spine because I forgot to take out the trash when I was 12 years old.  Good thing it wasnt one of the earlier printings or I may have had to file a false parental abuse claim.

As for the condition of the B3...it looks pretty spectacular to me but I am a little spoiled after seeing Aneoth's copy.  His is in near mint and is absolutely gorgeous (as modules go anyway).  I didnt even want to touch it for fear of tainting it's beauty.  Geez, sounds almost pornographic.  8O   The seller doesnt do a great job of describing\grading her other D&D auctions (see the second and third print Men and Magic for what I am referring to) but I cant find much of any problems with the B3.

*nods*. Is looking better today than it did last night.

Was also initially cautious after seeing the "great shape" 1st/5th print M&M ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 5199414207 ) and others, since I immediately spotted that long apparent crease on the back of the orange B3 which they'd missed (about the same as on my black folder PotVQ, therefore should take the grade down to around VG/F? ;)).
But they've listed that now and (hopefully) had another very good through again. Certainly lucky if it doesn't show at all on the booklet.

Another thing I was curious about was the "fold over" at the top of the cover: looked like tension marks from having been stored in shrink for a long time, but might just have been very tightly wrapped in the first place??
Out of interest, though, are many of the B3 oranges which are still in shrink starting to suffer a bit from that?

Aside from those points, couldn't see any obvious detractors.

Mine shows very slight warpage/buckling from the shrink about where the banner hits the top of the cover above the "P" in "Palace", but not on the corners.

My copy shows 6 faint creases coming off the spine from when it wasn't boarded previously (now is though). Luckily doesn't appear to have suffered from staying in the shrink at all.  :D

Very good looking 2nd print Basic Set, etc.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 5199427507
$9.99 start with 6 days to go

Dragons #33, 37-9, 41, 43-53, 55-62, 64
- most of the earlier issues look OK: might like to check with the seller than they're all nice and fresh, though, if interested
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 5198830248
$4.99 start with 6 1/3 days to go

Quite a lot of good stuff here (D&D, CoC, etc.), all finishing at the same time with many 99 cents still in place (6 days to go)
eBay listings

Dunkirk (Gygax & Lowry, Guidon 1971)
- no shrinkwrap (sorry, Mike/IO!) and punched, but apparently unplayed.
Certainly looks better that the copy at GenCon 2003 ($66; Gencon )
(US only, unfortunately)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 5199404234
$11 with 9 days to go
