Well, No more fooling around with the kiddie bids in hopes of keeping it low. Not much more to do now except to wait around for a2jeff to come along and snipe me.

The guy just told me he'd let me close it w/a $500 BIN.  Should I take it?

I am now really confused by the current high bidder, even more so than I was about the previous one. Maybe I am missing something. :?

Well, I've got my suspicions, but they're completely harmless.  Man, I actually feel bad for you, honestly.  That was a close one.  But there will be others, no doubt, and then you'll feel vindicated when you make that smoking post on "recent fun finds".

What about U&WA page 21? I always assumed this was changed at the same time, just confirming.

*nod nods* Yes, indeed; totally revised.
Was a good guess if so. :D

(The previous version of that page is even less readable! *g*).

Am still trying to tie that into Eldritch Wizardry (4/76) being present on the stock list with a price, rather than "coming soon!"... (unless /someone/ has a copy which states otherwise. *looks hopefully at <Deimos>*)

Not sure what insight I can provide there. The only difference between the 5th and mine on that page seems to be that in the normal 5th, the products list is printed at a horrible angle. In mine it's set much straighter. The actual text is identical. (Eldritch is listed for $5.00).

Yeah, that early 5th of your's seems to have /much/ better registration than all the "other" copies.

Pity about the stock list being the same.
Causes more grief that (with regards the dating), IMHO, but is nothing new for the OD&D sets. ;)

Thanks for checking! :)

Seller has lots of cool stuff. Several early Dragons including 1-8 , 1st or 2nd Print World of Greyhawk Folio, OD&D Men & Magic booklets 2nd/3rd/& fifth prints, 1st print Greyhawk(not T1st), Blackmoor, Eldritch Wizardry 3rd print, 3 Supermodules, etc......

eBay listings

Granted a lot of it is not in that great of condition, but still pretty rare just the same.

Arg.  Well, I wanted to watch those auctions anyway.  I'm really starting to hate this thread though. ;)

Heh, heh... seller listed the rest whilst my email was sat in their in-tray (25 minutes after the M&Ms auction start). Guess that means they're not interested in a BIN, or else have already been flooded. Know the feeling? :P

Those early Dragons are three-hole punched, btw. ;)

I probably could have listed this in the silliest auction prices thread, but I figured it more signifigant due the description and pictures. Its another OD&D white box set that has 6th print books but no OCE starburst, and no price on the cover of the box either. :?

Oh, good spot!! 8)
Thank you. :D

In terms of that box, I love to see a bit of consistency rather than a one-off total mystery. Wonder how many others slipped under the radar, before?
I know I was more focused on 4th-s...

Aside from the seller's word, is it certain that they're 6th print books? (yeah, I can see those treant notes in ink, but that's all...).
If so, that makes me very happy, since this would tend to confirm the printings I'd previously labeled as "7th" do actually come before the "6th"s and the initial printing points apparent from the Tolkienesque relics were contrary, rather than indicative to any sequence.
(The color differences on the logos are that clear cut, even though there may be other printings still knocking around).

Couldn't tell anything last time with that box, since there were two sets up at the same time, possibly combined/shuffled.

Heh. Does anyone else follow all that? :?:

Either way something is amiss, either a 5th print set with no price on the box or a 6th print box with no OCE starburst. Interestingly enough, I was able to decode most of the writing(3 of the 4 paragraphs at least  ) in the Vol II M&T and the Ref Sheets.

From the Refernce Sheets:
nimnar2 wrote:Treants or Ents on the sheet and 3 volume set are the same thing. In the Advanced DUngeons and Dragons MM Treants have slight differences an qualities. Therefore to make two different classes consider a matter on treants in the 3 volume set and supplements Ents

From the M&T Booklet:
nimnar2 wrote:Concerning Treant
Treants or Ents on the sheet and 3 volume set are the same thing. In the advanced D and D Monster Manual Treants are slight different than the Treants here. Therefore to make two different classes of monsters, consider all matter on treants in the 3 volume set and supplements on Ents

nimnar2 wrote:II. The Treants are very similar. If you want you can treat Treants as ENts and Ents as Treants. Seperating the classes from Ent CLass in making two different classes. They are supposed to be the same thing

I wonder if "the supplements" means vols 4-7 or if he is just referring to the box set booklets. It would be interesting to find out. I imagine the question has already been asked of the seller though.
