But certainly not often that close to a 1st MM price....

Forget by the book, the bidder's a fanatic:

6 days left, current bid $25.00.

This has been at the top of my list since I was outbid on one by someone at the GenCon auction one year :(

Yeah I was just outbid on this today, also I think its a '77 not '75, but I can't find my cover scans, anyone else know which printing this is?

It's a first print.  The second print had larger (and better) cover art.

Alright, I guess the cats out of the bag. The seller gave me a BIN, but never put it on the auction, after he emailed it to me, so stay away and don't jack up the price. You need to save your money for the Rob Kuntz auctions ending on Sunday.

I know the winner.  He was in touch with me close to the auction end to say that he would be bidding and hoped that it wouldn't spoil our friendship!

I told him that mine was purely a speculative bid in case everyone else missed it or forgot to snipe.  Had I won it would be straight back on eBay with images and worlwide shipping. :D

Now I see the final price, I wish I'd have put in a snipe.

Not when the seller offered it to me already for $60.00.

UK (GW) D2 & D3 (fairly rare, compared with the UK Gs... which are hardly "common" themselves)
- some faults, high postage and BIN, but worth a note anyhow, IMO. (UK sale)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 5198293180
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 5198295142
$16 & $18 start with ~6 days to go

German Polys plus a few other RPGA and TSR licensed items (UK sale)
- nothing overly cheap / postage high again, but "different";

*merf*. Wouldn't $200 have gotten their attention quicker?

(That was the seller's price then, not your offer? Poor sucker...)

Oh no, I just asked him if he had a BIN, and said "well, adding it up I would imagine that this lot could get around $150.00 individually, but I would be happy to see this auction go for $60.00." 8O Needless to say I responded immediately with a sure, that sounds pretty good to me, within 60 seconds of his email to me. Unfortunately for me he never got back to me as he must have jumped back online to and never saw my return email.

Needless to say, I am still pretty intent on winning this auction, but I guess it is going cost me a bit more than I had hoped.

8O indeed!

Hmm; could be, but that almost sounds as though they were asking what you were willing to offer.
Might still have been waiting for you...

(Personally, would've gone directly to $150 and asked them to keep the deadweight stuff as soon as the transaction had been accepted.
Academic point, phps, but there's rarely a "second chance" around here).

Yeah, I know that feeling only too well: when you think you've won an auction or done a deal, and something goes awry before it's complete (or even after that). :(
Possessiveness has a really bad habit of kicking in, then...
