DESCRIPTION: Up for auction are 2 of my favorite pieces. They are TSR Memos from Gary Gygax, the co-creator of Dungeons & Dragons and president of TSR, to David "Zeb" Cook, one of TSR's most prolofic authors,  about the creation of a Science Fiction RPG(Star Frontiers). The first memo is typed and Mr. Gygax is giving Mr. Cook some guidelines for the creation of the game. The second memo(signed by Gary Gygax in pen!) is typed on Mr. Gygax's official stationary and deals with how he wants the game presented and talks about not "watering down a good game system with purile or moronic verbage", etc.

I'll be.  I never knew there were any guidelines.

Regards,

Stephen

Know I miss plenty here; probably just as well given the budget! ;)

I know the problem... Budgets... I got a wife, kid and house. With that, a couple of expensive hobbies (D&D is not the only one! ;))

Basic Rules Fifth UK print. Dog eared. But they don't seem to come up too often:

Listed as only ships to Europe. So, worth a question if you are anywhere else.

Issue 121 of Dungeon (page #38 ) has them available for $25 brand new. don't know if they have a print number inside differentiating them from the original print. Covers look identical.

For awhile it was a pretty good racket to buy Dungeon mags and Living Greyhawk mags from WOTC and resell them for twice the amount.  The Living Greyhawk Journals used to sell for $5 each (they are a bit more now) and you could get $20 each for them; the Dungeon #1's used to bring in about $35-40 and you could buy them for $25 (still the same price I see).

And now a Basic Rules 1st UK print.  Worth checking if the perforated reference sheet has been removed (last page).

Seems like a pretty good deal.  Did anyone ever get a pic or scan of it, though?

Don't know the winner, but was amused by the underbidder who had pretty close to zero interest in the item during the Bella auction/fiasco (delete as appropriate). ;)

Heh. Was tracking that and a few others earlier when the PC crashed, debating whether to post or not.
Like I said, great to have ya back! :P ;)

There's a Dragon Magazine CD set, too, but guess that got lost on the semi-dup'd pics.

The down side; US and money orders only.... Well, that's two ways to kill a sale! :o

p.s. Just finished: was a few cents short of appearing on the bidders list, here, even with the obvious flaw; but look who won--

[edit] Ah, almost forgot; seller has lots of "Approved for Traveller" stuff, aside; over the next few hours... Prices are drifting higher, though.

Hrmm... that happens, I'm afraid. :(

Just did the same with two fanzines;
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 5194239968
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 5194237794
only to have Burnie Bros. list another two (which went cheap!), and another seller offer the full set of eight in mint condition!

(You'd think they were common )

Hopefully you didn't pay too much for postage for the cards, so at a pound or so each still looks fairly good to me.
And now you've "advertised" the other sale, the price for those four might go higher (unfortunately).
