I am currently selling off my entire collection - haven't played in at least 6 or 7 years and I am gonna use the cash to round out my AD&D/D&D stuff. But after seeing what these cards are going for... I have to wonder if I am going about this the wrong way!!!

I remember that particular card selling for around $200...Now they are at a grand +!!! Compare that to the most rare AD&D/D&D stuff and it makes you a little sick.

Well, you won't be getting flamed by me, at least.  I think that price is insane, especially for a single card.  What's the draw here, rarity?  They aren't old enough to get "history" points.  They aren't cool enough to get "novelty" points.  I don't get it.  (Early D&D rares are way cooler.  8) )

It's the most valuable card in Magic. Still, that is a ridiculous price.

As a current Magic player, and Lotus owner, I guess I could comment.  All of the "Power 9" cards and Lotus in particular have taken a 200+% price hike in the last two years.  This mainly due to Wizards showing a lot more support for the Type 1/Vintage format where you can play these cards.

DESCRIPTION: Up for auction are 2 of my favorite pieces. They are TSR Memos from Gary Gygax, the co-creator of Dungeons & Dragons and president of TSR, to David "Zeb" Cook, one of TSR's most prolofic authors,  about the creation of a Science Fiction RPG(Star Frontiers). The first memo is typed and Mr. Gygax is giving Mr. Cook some guidelines for the creation of the game. The second memo(signed by Gary Gygax in pen!) is typed on Mr. Gygax's official stationary and deals with how he wants the game presented and talks about not "watering down a good game system with purile or moronic verbage", etc.

I'll be.  I never knew there were any guidelines.
