Hello everyone!

I've been trying to find a miniature Ruins of Undermountain box set...you know, the tiny pocket sized one they made in the 90s along with the miniature hardcover books. (They were probably about 2-3" tall at most).

Does anyone know where I might find that mini-box set for Undermountain?

eBay.  They come up once in a while but the days of them being relatively inexpensive are probably gone.  They used to come up a lot more.  They were made by an Italian company called "21st Century Games".  I think they are now defunct.  There a some threads on the subject if you do a search.

Here's are a couple:

Pocket Sized D&D Expert Rulebook and Isle of Dread Modul

Miniature Boxed Sets......

That's exactly right — they seem to come in spurts. One week, you'll see a fairly wide selection of mini-books on eBay, then four or five weeks will go by with hardly anything. I've got a good AuctionSieve script set up for these, but many times it comes up totally empty.

Nobleknight usually has some in stock, too — http://www.nobleknight.com

Xaxaxe, you willing to share that script?  I'm looking for the PHB, DMG, and MM in mini form as I have a good magnifying glass and don't need to do much except look up a rule now and then.

It's a pity that most companies simply do not make smaller sized books anymore.  OD&D had the right form factor, but the presentation was less than stellar.

Certainly. Here's the basic commands. The trash words included here are just to eliminate the D&D Miniatures game and some other obvious items; other trash words will have to be added, depending on the user's other interests.

Search category: 2543 (all roleplaying)

Search terms (set to "any"): mini miniature tiny small (these are how I've seen the books described in the past)

Time frame: All

Trash words:
aberration
archfiend
chainmail
dragoneye
giants of legend
harbinger
rebel storm
mage knight
ral partha
boot hill
star frontiers
sportsclix

Catch words: I don't use any, because this filter usually returns a fairly small sample. However, some obvious candidates might be:

DMG
PH
FF
Dungeon Masters
Players
Fiend
Dragonlance
(etc., etc.)

Just for fun, I ran the sieve a minute ago and came up with:

258 auctions;
minus 216 filtered trash words;
and at least six legitimate finds (the Dragonlance series and two copies of the Elminster's Ecologies boxed set)

Many of the other results were from sellers who can't/won't spell correctly; those will be added to my trash filter. My favorite is the guy who posted a bunch of "Giants O Legend" items.

There might be better ways to find these mini-books; I don't claim to be that good with Auction Sieve. YMMV. However, this script has worked reasonably well for me over the past 3-4 months.

Happy hunting!  :)

I don't know why, but those seem to have become the toughest of the series to find. I don't see them with near the frequency of, say, the Wilderness Survival Guide or the Greyhawk boxed set.

In 3rd edition terms, they've got a DC of 25 or 30; you'll need to roll high on your eBay skill check ...

Hey, it's the first bad gaming/real life comparison of the year! I win!

The Fiend Folio, MM II and Legends & Lore mini versions are quite rare, too.

I checked today and all the have left are Dragonlance adventures, greyhawk adventures and 5 or 6 of the dragonlance modules.  All in mini form.  Sorry to get your hopes up, I am sure they had them this summer; there must have been a rush of people trying to complete there mini collections.

Fortunatly mine is already complete.

Thanks guys. So far, no luck though. I saw one from England on ebay the other week, but didn't pay attention to when it ended and missed a chance to snipe it. Argh!!
