Thank you to dbartman for the heads up, I'm glad for the help in finding TSR Spotlight!

And thanks as well to the ebay seller frankofett who threw in a very nice surprise bonus :)

I had some luck finding some old TSR box sets over the holidays.

Gamma World and Boot Hill are especially nice, very lucky game store finds.

Wow...this must be what it's like when a psychiatrist unlocks a repressed memory.   :)   I had completely forgotten the hours spent playing Gamma World, Top Secret, and Boot Hill until seeing this.  Nice find!

Ok, this is not related to the price as i have no clue whether or not i paid it at a fair value. This was an item that was on my want list since long time and as soon as i spotted it, i went for the BIN without thinking too much:

** expired/removed eBay auction **

BTW i honestly have no clue about mkt values for it...

I'm not sure either but in comparison with other Aussie TSR stuff I'd say you scored pretty bigtime.

Congrats aia, nice one!

That is an awesome find.  The coloring of the box top was painful to see.

I'm chasing Lady Luck, but she's just too damn fast

Wait, did you just recently find that? Or do you mean first ever, like 15 years ago?

My local HPB charge more than anything you can find on ebay.

Purchased on 12/27/19 for $512.40.
Using the grading system here I would say the set is in good condition over all.

Yes the damage to the box and books is very disappointing, but it is a first print, and how many of them are left out there?

Awesome purchase.  Just goes to show that there are still treasures to be found at a good price!

It might be possible to remove that coloring, although it's not horrible.

You could probably have a conservator do some fairly simple work to the box, and possibly the books, to improve their condition.  Since this is a first print, it could be worth it.

Have you been able to determine which version of the first print it is?

I am curious if there are any metrics or research about how much out of print stuff is 'lost' (thrown out, destroyed, etc) each year.  I imagine it could be significant with lesser quality items.
