Shipping is getting outrageous or maybe it has been for awhile and I never noticed… Does it really cost $85 bucks to ship a boxed set from Australia?  Sellers/buyers from that region are truly at a disadvantage if that is the case.

My youngest almost anytime, then it peters out with my older ones unless they are doing chores. I never had to push a swing during wintertime like I've done so the past couple years.

Back in late October, I learned my Creatine levels were elevated.  Not good.  My primary physician recommended I meet with my urologist.  I finally got an appointment in early December.  The doctor said my right kidney was swollen and needed attention within three weeks.  An MRI revealed my ureter (tube between kidney and bladder was blocked).  A month later I finally had surgery to try and install a stent.  A week later a doctor installed a nephrostomy tube into my kidney so my kidney could expel urine.  Thank goodness the kidney was still functioning!  Ten days later another doctor tried to install a stent into my ureter.  Didn't work.  Then my nephrostomy tube malfunctioned, and I had to go in and have it fixed.  Yesterday a third doctor successfully installed a stent.  Finally!  If that hadn't worked, I would have had to go to Emory in Atlanta for major surgery.  Thank goodness yesterday turned out well.  I'll have to keep the nephrostomy tube for another two weeks to make sure the stent is working properly.  I'll keep this stent for three months at which time it'll be switched out for a larger stent which I'll keep for three months.  What a mess!  Five surgery/procedures down and two more to go!  The good news is that I'm in little pain and can live my life relatively normal.   8)

That is awful.  I hope you've seen the worst of it and are on the mend.  Get better quickly.

Best wishes, Chris. I had a kidney stone block my duct back in 2012 and it was the most agonizing pain ever. They did the stent thing, and I got the impossible scenario; another stone getting stuck between the stent and the ureter three days later. Sucked.

Ugh!  This has been quite the medical journey for me, but it appears I'm through the worst of it.  Thanks for your well wishes.   8)

Not sure if this is new, but interesting article and book:

An original manuscript of D&D will appear in a new history book - Polygon

When was this released? Worth buying?

Anyone have an e-mail addy for the guys at Swordfish Islands?

I saw the movie Dune 2, and I liked it!  It picks right up from where Dune 1 left off, but I suspect that even if someone hadn't seen Dune 1, they'd like the movie.  The special effects these days continue to impress and wow me.  The world of Arrakis presents an interesting and immersive culture, especially among the Fremen with a different language, religion, dress, and ethos.  The acting is outstanding, but I especially enjoyed the character played by Javier Bardem who stole the show at times.  I also really liked the soundtrack.  The bad guys are really evil-looking and acting. I showed up for a "1:00 PM" movie and left the theater at 4:00.  The number of commercials before the previews start is disappointing.  I suspect lots of people telling me how great the movie was led to me not finding it as spectacular as I imagined, but it is worth seeing it in the theater.  I did not pay extra for IMAX.   8)
