You said you have an ipad.... You could use that. Ipads are basically just larger iphones.

I’ve been to the cinema about 6 weeks ago and didn’t need a vaccine passport etc
But it’s likely the rules have changed since then

Lol. I'm not gonna go to the cinema with my iPad just to get some kid to let me in the door.
Most of them will be unemployed and unemployable in the next three years.
Why run the risk of loss/damage to an iPad just to prolong someone else's uncertainty and pain in life?
The sooner they wake up to the changes that are happening in our society, the more likely they are to succeed.

That is an iron philosophy for an iron people. Each time Martin or the scriptwriters would make up a new nation, they would always have a perspective on life that's more antisocial & dysfunctional than the last. A GoT nation along the lines of what you describe above could have real plot-point potential. For the theater is dark, & filled with iPad thieves.

Here in the UK we have imported the US gang and knife crime problems. Luckily, other than mugging victims where they tend not to discriminate, the stab victims tend to be only within certain cultures where gangs selling drugs and children carrying knives are endemic. The same households where the women prefer not to have husbands, the men prefer not to have jobs, and no-one in the family has read a book. So RPGs are out of the question for these kids, but at least mugging people, stabbing rivals, and surprising your mom with a casket for her birthday are increasingly popular hobbies, and you don’t need to listen to her bleeding heart stories and lies about your character if your the one in the casket.

As to the muppets in the dead end jobs that the whole of society can now see going extinct in the next few years, there are those who know, and are taking the money and making their play elsewhere, and there are those who think they are building a career. More power to them. They will both get exactly what they deserve for the efforts they put into their chosen career paths.

I promise I'll ask about caskets the next time I'm at a local game store, but it's hard to see why these would be a hotter product than D&D in today's market. I suppose if the game store manages to sell only one casket, it could earn as much as selling many boxed sets & minis. Or is "surprising your mom with a casket for her birthday" another delightfully British turn of speech? Or practice?

Well, no one said that small-time publishing would be a walk in the park, especially if you're trying to make a living at it or support a family. Most are lucky if they can finish a kickstarter under budget & on time. You're right, mugging people results in a more steady income. I'll be sure to look into it.

I don’t think we get HBO Max here in the UK, although I’m sure with a VPN and a credit card one could manage it. It’ll be ripped and online within a week for those who don’t want to go to the cinema and can’t be bothered waiting for iTunes. I’ll just wait for iTunes. Can’t run the risk of my PC catching a virus either. My income depends on it, and I don’t have a spare.

I don't think chav is a culture. I was referring specifically to the gang and knife culture endemic within specific communities in English) cities.

Up here in Scotland it's mostly junkies feeding habits. We are not as ethnically diverse as England, and don't have the gang/knife crime problems to the scale that English cities do. The problem up in Scotland is our own homegrown addicted and their feral kids. We feed the problem and allow it to breed because we are trying to be the best in the world at creating junkies. But the US is putting up a good fight, and making it perfectly (de facto) legal to shoplift up to $900 a time is a genius move (CA?). Not even our Socialist Party entertained such a notion, and they are full on Marxist in their aspirations. But the pandemic has really destroyed most of our junkies' traditional income streams (burglaries, blowjobs, begging and mugging), so they are desperate. Some are even resorting to stealing dogs and selling them on Gumtree (because they don't have the brains to crawl under a car and cut off its catalytic convertor.)

Because most people are home a lot more now, they have had to cut back on home break-ins. So now the man (almost always) walks up to an old lady or a mother with a child who is walking their pet pooch, punches her really hard in the face a couple of times, grabs the lead and makes off with the dog. The little old lady can't make chase, and often can't even describe her assailant. The mother is stuck between trying to protect her dog and trying to protect her child, no contest, and the dog is a nice quick £50 earner, and people are just walking around parks dragging these £50 notes around on strings, and wondering why the weak are having them stolen. Some have even twigged on that whilst the dog is an easy £50 pay out, the toddler is a £1000 pay out if you are willing to fight the mother and can source a buyer. And lets face it, those types are desperate too. Here in the UK we don't allow our women to carry or discharge pepper spray because your average SJW in the UK believes that hurting those who want to assault/abuse women and children is wrong, and what they really should be doing is offering them a cuddle and asking them if they want to talk it through with someone.

In our cities we now have open gang warfare with machetes in public parks and supermarket carparks in broad daylight. I don't think most people in the UK understand what happens when mass unemployment, supply line disruption, and inflation come together. It's like watching a train wreck happen in slow motion. You know what is going to happen. You know what the forces at work are. You know what the actors are going to do, and how they are going to play the victim and pretend they didn't see the train coming. You can read the playbook of the narrators telling everyone on the train that everything is going to be fine, that the train is on a different track, and there is going to be no crash. You can see the first class carriage has decoupled and the gap between cattle class and first class is widening, and you can see the fear and the anger in cattle class, and watch the fighting amongst the inadequate alphas beginning to break out.

Yet, not one in a thousand will choose to act differently.

With these sorts of things, I think it is better to be a spectator than a bit part actor.

Chiastic structure - Wikipedia
'Chiastic structure, or chiastic pattern, is a literary technique in narrative motifs and other textual passages. An example of chiastic structure would be two ideas, A and B, together with variants A' and B', being presented as A,B,B',A'. Chiastic structures that involve more components are sometimes called "ring structures", "ring compositions", or, in cases of very ambitious chiasmus, "onion-ring compositions". These may be regarded as chiasmus scaled up from words and clauses to larger segments of text...When read left to right, top to bottom, the first topic (A) is reiterated as the last, and the middle concept (B) appears twice in succession. (Also, the middle concept could appear just once.)'

Alchemists & mad scientists agree that the true, esoteric meaning of a text may be gleaned from locating the singular & centrally located statement, stripping away the repetitious & superfluous ideas. Looking at your post above, the central statement is:

Sorry, I don't get this.
Are you saying that you sympathise with those who assault and abuse women?
Or are you deliberately cropping my statement to make it look like I sympathise with those who assault and abuse women?

What I'm saying is that for me, Dune movies are all about the weirding modules. These kids today don't appreciate how to use techniques involving sound to bring peace & happiness & military conquest. But I agree with you, a cry & a cuddle is what the world needs sometimes, though I'm not sure how far an online group can provide it. Do you have accessibility to a local church group or shaman?
