Thank you SKA. Had myself a little adventure glad to be back. Don't worry, nothing too daring, well I did bid on some stuff using White Castle's public wifi so there is that.

Hey all,

I haven't been on for a very long time.

Still in Hong Kong.

I was curious as to everyones thoughts on the Magic the Gathering set coming out this summer set in the Forgotten Realms.

Some of the art looks quite nice.

Hey, I play a lot of MTG. Im pretty excited but its only replacing the core set so its a bit of a bummer as that makes it intrinsically less special.

I'll probably buy a box and draft it in the UK at some point. Probably not worth collecting except for fun.

Yeah I haven't played in competition or casual since the Ixalan set back in 2017. Pirates! Vampires! and Dinosaurs oh my! :)

So I have been out for almost 4 years.

I'll pick up some of the more interesting cards mainly for the art.

The borderless Lloth by Jesper Ejsing as an example.

My pre-order included a case of set boxes, 2 collectors boxes, six bundles and four starter packs. So, you could say I am excited for it. :)

I only played for a bout a year during 4th edition and Ice age. I have a few collectables, but not many. I just think its going to be a cool set. I also think its going to get DnD in a lot of folks heads, which I think is the idea.

I'm excited for you! I would love to have a huge group and draft them at a tournament.

I played magic right around the same time I was playing 2nd edition AD&D, and every d&d player in my group also played magic. Magic was the backup plan, the thing we did to fill time when we couldnt get everyone together for d&d. However, when we'd go to the game shop, I would say the majority of magic players did not also play d&d. They kind of looked down on it actually. At the same time, a black lotus was $18 so things may have changed. I dont know if the same is true today, but at least 25 years ago, d&d was not as popular as magic in the LGS. Now that d&d is mainstream, I'm curious to see how successul this and future cross overs will be. I found the Ravnica material in 5e to be a causal read but nothing in there made it to our table.

Could anyone let me know if this series of comics was worth reading? And how many there were if they are, please?

There were 36 issues.  There was also a Dragonlance, Forgotten Realms, and Spelljammer comics published by DC at the same time (all ran for less issues). Never read any of them, so can't comment on whether they are worth reading.

The Dragonlance series wasn't very good.   :(

I know this is the wrong forum, but since it was mentioned, what do you guys think a full run of these dragonlance comics would go for? I have them in fair condition?

Thank you,
Jorge

That set does look massively overpriced though compared to single comics and what’s sold beforeThis is the forgotten realms

Yeah, and mine are not in great condition, I think that I will hold on to them for a while longer. Thanks though!
