Probably fair to say those prices are all over the place at present if you can rough up the box a bit more, toss in late print supplements with faults (inscriptions stated and staple rust visible, anyhow) and turn it around for $450, per the recent sale?

Both from the TSR era owning GNW.
Both with the GNW address as "P.O. Box 756, Lake Geneva, WI" (i.e. same POB as TSR; they sorted the mail in-house).
Neither with any fantasy theme; standard cross-stitch.

It was a rather crappy set and definitely not in collectible condition. No guarantee that it was all original either. I would compare it to buying a loose module lot that happens to include the same modules that are in a 10th anniversary combo pack, but with a loose "D&D 10th Anniversary" sheet included.

Still, they are rare, and if someone was looking for a placeholder until a better one comes along, this would fill the gap.

Maybe if whoever bought it upgraded all of the modules to NM versions, they could resell it and double their money

I won it yesterday, as I was looking for such set a long time ago. I thought the price would go higher. :roll:

I didn't see many of them in the past years, maybe Brian sold an exemplary a few years ago. Or someone else. Yes, the box in not in fine condition but I think this was very fragile, so it is not too bad IMO.

About upgrading the modules inside, yes I was thinking about it... but not for a resale, just for me. If I am right, the modules don't have any distinctives characteristics... Would you consider that as a infamous Frankenstein ?
