The UK set looks like an updated set of the same pieces. They are slightly larger and much more detailed than the 10th ann set.

Hi

Not sure if anybody is still taking notice of this but i have 001 of the 500 that were to be made of the said english version shown in the middle of the photo above. I purchased this in monthly instalments in then early 90s in England.  Before 94 certainly, although not sure exactly.   Anyway I searched long and hard to find any mention of this chess set and could not even find a picture of it until now.

Due to my frustration I contacted Danbury Mint regarding the set.  At first I received an email stating that the whole edition was made, but subsequently they came back to me saying that only 70 of these were ever made!

So i apparently have 001 of 070 that were made.  Bet many are not still around!

Is this item worth money?

Cheers.

Ian

Only one of seventy?  Are you kidding me?  Nope.  Not worth the metal it was carved from. Totally crap, junk, jank and trash.  I would even be happy to throw it away for you.  No problem.

We picked up another Danbury set a while back. No # with this set though.

Total known sets are up to 4
