I tried making a new ebay search today, working under the theory that some rare stuff might be hiding in basements nearby the birthplace of D&D and being dumped on ebay by unknowledgable relatives and the like, possibly in the wrong category...

I tried looking for anything within 25/50/100 miles of zip code 53147, and was going to try something similar for GW but it seems that eBay UK doesn't have this functionality.  Has anyone else attempted this tactic with any success?

The area is mined pretty heavily - it's truly random what you come up with.  A few years ago, I had the bright idea of placing an ad with the Lake Geneva paper, that netted me two brown boxes in good shape.  I tried it again this fall for 3 weeks and got no response.  But I know people are still stumbling across treasures in estate sales and such, so the search is valid, it just has very low hit potential and it's getting lower.
