Don't know if this is laughable or not.

D&D Dungeon Masters Guide | eBay

The auction title says Dungeon Master's Guide, the text description says Player's Guide, and the picture is of a Monster Manual.

B2 The Keep on The Borderlands | eBay

Just for yucks I wrote him:

Oringinal AD&D B2 The Keep on the Borderlands
8770285018

Question:

Your description states 1st printing edition. Yet the 1st and 2nd printings of this product have wizard logos, not the elongated TSR initial logo shown in your picture.

Do you guarantee that what you'll send is a 1st printing, as you state in writing?

Answer:

that picture is a stock photo.
the one I have is an original 1st edition
sorry for the confusion
robert

So no word on PRINTING per se. Who knows? With wizard logo it could be...

a 1st (with the line "also suitable for use with AD&D" front cover)
or 2nd (wizard again but without the AD&D).

The one pictured is either
a 3rd (shorter with face logo but G & D modules still listed rear)
or 4th (taller again, only newer products on back)
or 5th (as 4th but shorter)
or 6th (shorter yet, & not as wide)
or 7th (new stock # stacked on back with ISBN)...

but it isn't an 8th (3-hole drilled, ISBN left stock # right).

Ad&d 2nd Edition | eBay

Not much needs to be said here, just look at the pic. 8O  I wouldn't be surprised if that book turned into a green slime by the time it arrived in the mail.   Of course, if you are interested in it, you do have thr privelage of paying $10.00 to have it shipped to you as well.

Its counterpart isn't faring much better either:

Ad&d Module | eBay

The line that confuses the hell out of me is the We have been in the Industry for over 50 years.  I must have missed that last 18 years somewhere along the line. :?

cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem& ... Track=true

It's a perfectly wonderful auction, nothing funny there.  However:

"This is from my husband's collection.  He was a huge D&D player.  Now we have three small children."

Nope.  I found a loophole.  She keeps telling me I have to read to the baby.  Never said what. ;)

Why is it that when I read this description I get the impression that when the guy was typing it up he was listening to "Dueling Banjos" on his stereo?  Gotta remind myself not to go to East Texas anymore.  8O

Sitting at the computer laughing at this last eve,

http://cgi.ebay.com/Rules-Cyclopedia-D- ... mZ87709993 08QQcategoryZ44112QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Reading between the lines: "We killed dat stoopid dog an used 'is mangy hide fer a cover."

My son comes up to me asking what was so funny.  I showed him the listing.  His responce was "wow, that's cool looking.  Will you get that for me?  Come on, Dad, I've got the money to pay you for it."  I was chuckling thinking he was being sarcastic.  ......Then I realise he was serious.  Threw him out of my computer room and told him his 13 yr old butt can come back when he gets some sense in his head.

Not so much a laughable description, its the "item" itself thats laughable.
