Wonder if they'll still take offers for specific items now that the auction is over?

Well let me put it this way. If the seller ships it and for what ever reason it goes missing in the mail and the buyer makes a claim and gets his money back, it couldn't happen to a nicer more deserving seller.

I didn't expect another Australian to bid on these but I was wrong. I didn't think there could a bigger nerd than me - but there is another that collects DnD and likes puzzles.

Sometimes you just need to take heart in the fact that you're not completely alone in the universe.  I was recently and massively outbid on a motherboard with a damaged BIOS chip.

Oh, and you guys should stop bidding on rats.  Just come up to Toronto in a few more weeks.  We'll have plenty -- for free!

I had my eye on three of his puzzles... I already have the Mountain of Mirrors one... Return to Brookmere was always my favorite EQ book...

If I wasn't broke right now I would have grabbed all three of them for a bit more than paid.

It was a good price really. I have seen them go for heaps more in the US. But I suspect these are not such rare items. Incidentally, the day before I bid on Mayfair Games The Company War from the same Seller and got it for 99 cents! So thought to bid on low dollars on the puzzles.

Damn...was really hoping to snag this:

** expired/removed eBay auction **

I figured the going rate for these was around $75 or so.  But figured that with prices dropping off on a lot of other RPG items that this would end up going cheaper than usual.  :(

Shame, King - looked nice.
I always thought of warhammer as a cheap and cheerful battle-system (and a newcomer to gaming!) but I suppose some of the earlier/older pieces are definitely old-school now.

Any hints on what to look for/avoid if one wanted to pick up a piece or two - hypothetically speaking of course  :D

That's crazy high.  I think I paid about $20 for my set last year.

The priciest early WFB stuff are some of the second edition supplements - because they're rarely complete with all the cutout/foldup buildings and the bonus badge/pin.

McDeath, Lichemaster, Orc's Drift - these could all be more like $40-50 items if complete.  But there is a lot of variation on these (so a real range might be $15-80).

I'm not so sure.  You may have just gotten a really good deal on yours.  I've been told by several other Acaeum members that this box set usually runs about $60 - $75 and has for a few years.

I collect Warhammer stuff and there are many items that are collectable.  The chaos books ($75-150), the white boxset ($75-100), all the OOP basic sets, like you said the old suppliments, rogue trader stuff like the astronomicon and many other items (without even getting into the minis).

Warhammer and games workshop is extremely collectable and has very robust following of fans.

Yep; you're right on the money IMO despite silly $75-100+ prices elsewhere being not uncommon in parallel. The white box is way too easy to hype but also easy to pick up cheaply.
Snagged a few good sets to give away last year with £5-10 being the usual range and shipping sometimes the majority of the cost; e.g.

@Blackmoor: any spare Warpstone #1s on the RP side? ;) That's a different kettle of fish altogether...

I'd say the hardest WFB/WFRP items to find complete and/or will almost always sell well are:

WFB2:
Terror Of The Lichemaster (very hard to find with badge and all card sheets)
Tragedy Of McDeath (very hard to find with badge and all card sheets)
Blood On The Streets (very hard to find with all card sheets)
Bloodbath At Orc's Drift (very hard to find with badge and all card sheets)

WFB3:
Slaves To Darkness
Lost And The Damned

WFRP1:
Empire In Flames
Warhammer Adventure (very hard to find with maps)
Warhammer City Of Chaos (very hard to find with maps)
Realms Of Sorcery Limited Edition (print run of 100-200, I think)
Marienburg
Dwarves Stone And Steel
Corrupting Influence

WFRP2:
Forges Of Nuln
Children Of The Horned Rat
Tome Of Corruption
Night's Dark Masters
Realm Of The Ice Queen

Other:
Warpstone 1-9, Special 1 (and anything out of stock is increasing too)
Hogwash 1-4
Private War campaign

Nice list; thanks! :)

#7 pops up relatively frequently for lower $. Even #10 & 11 ain't that "easy"...

Add a stack of other independent 'zines  with WH content of whatever flavor: all rare enough, even if not particularly "valuable".

Has anyone managed to ascertain whether any of Tim's productions are truly "out of print" rather than that he's still sitting on boxes of unsold product and slowly releasing those? ;)
