The normal selling price for these is about $5-$15.  I thought I overkilled the bid to get it but Serl wanted it more.

Sorry about that. I had no idea who was bidding on it, but its been on my list for a very long time, and the last one I saw and almost won I got sniped on so I didn't want to lose another one. I get tired of that, you know. :)

I did just recently lose out on an En Garde! if that helps any. I don't try to bid on stuff I know someone here wants... if I can help it.

I remember somebody posting that auction last week, joking that the Dragontales would go for a high price...  :D

I had been watching that one.
If it had not had so many problems I would have bid on it myself.
I already have a couple of them in better condition though.

This one has problems; page tears, seperation, writing throughout.
Even so, you are right, it is a good price for that book.
The seller was totally honest and upfront about it too, with a very detailed description.

like reading poetry, the way you write Aneoth (single line statements, not content, that is).  is the "enter" key oversized on your keyboard?

very good price / but not quite a steal that chainmail.

I thought I put a decent bid in, considering it's missing the box...

If I had seen it that bid would not have won.
I think that is an excellent buy even without the box.

Not when lofenloc's proxy bid was probably closer to $1000 than to $500.

Fair point   I did see it - but didn't bid.  I thought it might go for around $300-400.  No box, no reference or correction sheets and looks like a fair amount of staple rust.  Books otherwise look very nice though. Not a bad price.

I said that bid, not that bidder.

If I had seen it that bid would not have won.

And I agree, he would have most likely won regardless; even if I had seen it, but the final bid would have been a bit higher than it was.

Ditto, though I expected it to be more like $200-$300 vs. $400.

There was a Castle Falkenstein that just sold on eBay for $5. Why is that something I care about? Oh, only because I've been looking for one for like ever since it came out (only two stores in my area carried the book and only ordered 3, total and I didn't get one and they were never able to get a second order of them in...) and I had just told my fiancée that I was not going to buy anything for me until after her birthday and the wedding...

ARG!

Anyone interested in a trade? ;)

If I had known how much you wanted the Falkenstein I would have bid and then traded you for some C&C stuff...gouging you in the process of course ;)

Do you want me to pm you if I see another?  I think I saw this one.  Post the link?
