Thought I'd won that one too, thought my snipe was ridiculously OTT! Oh well, sort of relieved because my credit card would have had to carry the damage. Nice box, wasn't it?

Oh yes, lovely box, immaculate books, mysterious 'workpad' - the only thing missing is a wee plastic bag for dice.     Should have gone over $200 but that just seemed insane at the time.  I can of course take some comfort in Deadlord's dictum... that there will always be another one along soon.  :D

I missed out on an eldritch wizardry by 7 cents.

7 pennies.

Granted, it was 7 cents over my padding over what I wanted to pay for it buffer. But 7 cents.

Ah well, I'll go for another one down the road.

I agree. Whats with the OTT prices for a first print Box set there?
As was stated, nice box and contents, but not even complete.

The condition plus the fact it was a 1st. My favourite item of all the things I've collected is my UK Edition box (possibly, hmm...) This would have topped it. So more love than sense really. Anyway, who can resist boxes with things in?

Agree - condition, condition, condition... plus of course I missed the $63 one that Rakeesh sagely pointed out (duh !!)     In fact I seem to have been waiting for a nice 1st box set for a while.

Cheers guys - I am glad I missed it, roll on the next one  :D

Blackmoor did well on the Strategic Previews.  Congrats!

What's up with #4, though?   8O

Good Sharkey Colonel God!
I don't know who ended up with my copies of SP a few years back, but it was possibly Paul. I had 3 and 5, so he would have dropped the bank for 4, I'm sure.

"So, only copies from this first printing have those two mythos in the book."

Technically the first couple of printings, & the plural of mythos is 'mythoi,' but it's the thought that counts.

Was thinking more along the lines of:

There is the hand-written word "Production" on the front end-paper; this copy came from TSR's vaults, which explains that at some point this book was somebody's office copy at TSR.

Difficult to verify, of course, but I followed up with a couple of emails with the seller while it was still active.  Sounded pretty attractive (the book, that is...).

Question: Are LC1 and LC2 really that rare? I am looking to fill a few basic holes in my TSR collection and noticed I do not have these. I did a search and noticed one absolute Dorkmeister has one listed for $150. Yet, I did not wake up quite early enough this morning to bid on this:

Is that an exceptionally good price?
