I agree, and darkseraphim said he'd write back to me with details once the books arrived.  If he doesn't post here directly, I'll report back what I hear.

Nice one, Dark! (assuming you're lurking ...)

is that a "thanks Al" as a good or a bad thing ? :D

Oh, that was a "thanks" for the original post; and for the pointer afterwards. ;)

Spotted it easily, looking back through.

I haven't noticed that. I have had to enter numbers when PMing a buyer/seller. If they add that 'security feature' to bidding that will really suck. It will prevent both sniping and sniper engines.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

The snipe issue did hurt a little bit though....

Would liked to have seen my snipe go through on that.

Ah... shared misery!
Yeah, fixed here, too.

Given the context of that Traveller box amongst untouched 1976/7 material, it was going to be an early print I'm sure. Wasn't my main target, but to see that go in VF condition for $9.99....

Oh well, next. :)

Any time eBay changes any of its code, it forces all shareware makers to react and produce updated versions. However, this is fairly painless for any "authorized" software maker, thanks to eBay's new-ish software-registration policies (if you've ever had to register a "token" on eBay, you know what I mean).

Bottom line: all approved eBay-compatible software companies — whether they make sniper programs, listing templates, auction trackers, or whatever — are notified of any impending changes and are encouraged to work together with eBay to get their software up to speed. It's really not a big deal.

Although, having said that, I should have added that: (A) it's not a perfect system, and it usually takes a few days for all the software folks to catch up to any code changes; and (B) yes, missing a bid opportunity for reasons beyond your control is highly suck-ful.

Did the LBB's start to go up in price recently? I had seen them linger for next to nothing compared to other items from that era.

What printing and in what condition?
Heh... Or am I overlooking something there, myself? :)

Somewhat ignored collecting-wise, perhaps; and no, my bid wasn't huge anyhow (barely $20, fwiw).

Damn, that is a really minty box.  I already have one of the original LBB's and one of the deluxe editions but my LBB is not in nearly that nice condition.  Why do so many nice items like this come from sellers that can't read or spell?  It's Traveller....not Travelers!!!  :P

I'm not going to put this in the Silliest Price thread because I dont think it is that silly.  But it is a bit higher that I would expect.  The box is near mint as is the contents.  But usually these go for about half this price.

Star Frontiers RPG: Science Fiction | eBay

I know someone that has a nice mint SW copy.  I wonder if he will decide to sell his now?
