This grows annoying. A guy with 14 feedback from the UK who's never bid on a D&D item throws that much at a module? I smell shill. I think I'm off this one.

I must say. . . for anyone who wanted to "scare off" the competition a little. . . just create a new user ID and bid. It wouldn't be a shill if you were serious and were going to pay. . . and everyone else would start to get nervous. You could even place bids in the "manner" of a shill bidder.

I'm not sure it would even be unethical (maybe a little slimy), but still. . . love and war and all that. . . . :twisted:

Having all these great items is nice, but we spend so much time searching Ebay and bagging/boarding items that we don't even have time to read them, let alone play. A small part of our collection(common 1st edition modules and hardbacks) will be retained for play purposes, since we will have time after we sell. We would like to see our collection go to members of this forum if possible so we'll post a list of our rarer items shortly followed by a list of our art and Non-TSR items. Anyone interested can contact us via PM. We will part with individual items if the offer is right.

I'm shaving off about 1/2 of my collection as well. Mostly the Basic/Expert/Immortal stuff, a ton of multiple printing modules, boxed sets, etc. Drop me an e-mail and I'd be happy to send the list before it gets eBayed.

i was looking at the bid history of this item, and something about the zero feedback bidder (quachduck) doesn't seem right. all of his bids are even numbers (400, 500, 600). just doesn't seem right. either he's VERY new to ebay, or he's a shill. it took me a whole day on ebay to learn that if you put $20 down for you maximum bid you'll lose to the guy who puts down $20.51. i almost always put these odd numbers in, even when sniping (i know, sniping is controversial, but i occassionaly do it). most other people i know who use ebay do the same thing. do the even numbers seem strange to anyone else?

Dave. . . you would think that people would figure out not to bid even numbers. . . but the majority of bidders seem to be completely oblivious to this fact. I sell quite a bit and it never fails to astound me how many times someone loses because they didn't add an extra 1 cent to their bid.

Even a lot of other resellers are guilty of this. Cougar-guy almost always bids $11.00, $22.00, $33.00, $44.00, etc. I've won three "snipes" against him by bidding $88.01 (for example). I find it amusing. . .

I am curious to see how long it takes him to catch on. . .

All I know is there are 2 bidders who have never bid on ANY D&D items and now they bid on a $1,200+ one. No thanks, man.

The winner's previous ID (KellyKC1) I recognise - I bought something from her last year. Can't remember what it was, but Kelly in Kansas City was pleasant and professional, I recall.

Heh, heh... I think the "other bidders" were nuked.
The last second snipes pushed the price $500+ higher, so I guess quite a few bids failed to appear on the system.

Aside; presumably I'm not the only person who was offered other copies (real or imaginary) for sale "off-auction" as that was going on?
