Collectors collect. :)

Some only collect "one" of everything, but that usually means one of every printing of everything.

Welcome to the forums!

Step 3: Make your first post complain about it

Seems legit....

Step 4: eventually make assumptions of other members knowledge and be a dick to them I guess?

Ive seen this conversation a lot with Pokemon and Magic collectables. A couple of youtubers have talked about it and have taken a bit of a stance.

It takes time, curation, storage; each item has likely been poured over several times. People should be proud of there collections. Others really do scold bidders who buy tons of stuff.

Some dont like bad-feels comments about their collections and think it sounds like sour-grapes, others wonder why a Deities and Demigods thats beat to hell is $200 now and see others as hoarding driving up the market, say they arent "real" collectors etc.

Lordan has been here forever.  I'm not going to even begin to try and explain his humor but I assure you there is no malice behind it.

Welcome aboard Ochrejelly.

This is helpful.  I haven’t come across one of these before.  I’m on the lookout now.

A while back, a copy of Chainmail appeared with a yellow cover, but published by TSR. No one here was able to establish its authenticity, & so it was concluded to be a fake. Is it safe to say it was a fake?

I can't find it at the moment, but the buyer (who returned it) was Gnat the Beggar/Aneoth. Here are a couple of discussions of the mythical yellow TSR Chainmail edition itself:

That’s a heck of a pic, congrats!!

I draw the line at collecting... D&D beach towels.

Shoulda been: ".. from Pangreenia to Floratopolis, from mystical Treeonia of spectral Forests to Schruborial dimensions." - The Forests of Leng

D&D was literally into everything back in '83.  The skeleton mask looks really cool.  Do pictures exist of the full costume(s) somewhere?

Thanks for sharing Mike.
