He said no.
But then, if he WERE drunk, wouldn't he say that?

(and around and around and around we go...)

Anything written is "owned." Even these posts on the forums. Luckily, they come with a self-stamped time and date. However, proving you are the particular individual who wrote said thing might be a little difficult at times...

Not that it really matters in the long scope.

Hey, didn't King Osric from the movie Conan the Barbarian come first?  :P

Yeah, sure, and before him, there is Osric in Shakespeare's Hamlet.

The last big projects I did for 'free' on the internet got me published in Dragon Mag (with a nice check from Hasbro) and a column in KoDT (as well as a knightship and several checks from Kenzerco) so don't knock just creating for the love of creating, or the value of ephemeral intellectual property, or the efficacy of a self-stamped time and date. All the big free projects i've seen online are their own reward but they also amount to something in the eyes of our community both consumer and publisher.

The trick is to work on a project you love with dedication and a willingness to accept the critiques from people whose opinion you value, then learn and improve from earlier efforts where needed.

Funny. That is sort of how I got started with the Trolls, and therefrom, with Gary. In fact, I still give away a ton of free material though I have slowed way down in that... maybe I should kick my own teeth.

Here's an obscure one:  Osric and Findo, former princes of Amber who are long dead when Zelazny's Nine Princes in Amber begins.

Just got my copy today.  (And thanks again for being willing to accomodate my Luddite tendency to use money orders!)

The cover is gorgeous, and the cartography is excellent.  I would have preferred a slightly denser text format, but that's a matter of personal preference.

I'm still in the process of reading; what I've read so far looks good.  There's a fine line between not enough detail and too much, and it seems like the text here is pretty well balanced in that respect.

The nods to various gaming luminaries were a nice touch.  (Though, surely, Mentzor should have a higher charisma! ;)

Overall, I'm quite pleased with the product, and look forward to running it.

It's copyrighted 2006 -- 2008 by Stuart Marshall and Matthew Finch.

Everybody owns something :-)

That is just initial cost + a guestimate on what it would cost to replace, and a large amount of profit.

If it doesn't sell, I raise the price and put it up as a bin. I hate auctions but the listing was free.
