This booklet contains 50 pages of maps on various fortifications, every type from solitary spires and wooden stockades to massive fortress and walled cities.  These are excellent for siege, intrigue, and other adventures by the players. Included are six pages of tables for generating wall thickness, height, composition and features, towers, moat creatures, garrisons, trebuchets and other engines on the walls, retainers, servants, leaders, followers and more.  The castles are mapped on light gray hex grids.  A Judges Guild Campaign Hexagon Sub-System, approved for use with D&D.
 

Printing Information

  • 1st Printing (1978):  Cover has castle with woman in foreground; pages 61 and 62 advertise a handful of early Judges Guild releases with photos of the old covers.  Product list is just photos with the highest number being 61.
     

  • 2nd Printing (1980):  Cover shows castle with road over bridge.  Table of Contents page is in a larger font and lists two more pages of maps as well as changing the address to N. Sunnyside.  Kevin Siembieda has artwork on page 6 as well as replacing Sheryl England's artwork on pages 7 and 11.  Her artwork on page 9 has been removed.  Map sheets have N. Sunnyside address.  Product list is absent having been replaced by two additional maps.
     

  • 3rd Printing (1980/81):  Color cover sheet.  Cover shows castle with road over bridge.  Product list is titled "More Fine Products" (cover) with the highest number being 350.  Sheryl England's artwork on page 63 has been replaced by the Product list titled "Treasure Vault" (book) with the highest number being 750.
