Hi all,

This is verified first print, checked against this description:

1st Printing (1977):  Cover print is a very dark red, has no index number and a large $7.98, along with the words "First Fantasy campaign playing aid by Dave Arneson, Judges Guild".  Comes with the 1st printing of the First Fantasy Campaign Maps.  Product list is titled "Booty List" with the highest number being 35 and "New Non-Sub Items" listing product numbers 36-39.

Never used, stored since the 70's.

Can someone give me a ballpark value on this?

Thanks for your time.

$50-75 is a fairly good estimate.

Are the maps with it as well, or is it just the book?

(Did the maps come with it, or were they sold separately?)

Yes and Yes. Catalog lists them together with the book, but they could also be purchased separately.  Earliest Product list has only the book (states 88pg) and map.  Seems I need to change the price of the maps to $1.50 as that is what I'm seeing they went for in the various product lists.

Great!

Thank Plaag's estimate is pretty much correct. Though if I were trying to e-bay it, I'd take the maps out of the sleeve and show all 3 items. It would increase your value a bit.

When is the last time a 1st print came up for sale or auction on ebay?

bombadil sold one in Dec 2010 for $51
"Fairly rare 1st printing of Dave Arneson's First Fantasy Campaign, published by Judges Guild in 1977. Booty List in the back goes up to #39, and has the inside front cover typo "First Family Campaign".
In absolutely beautiful condition. Never used, though a bit of pencil scuffing on the front cover and some staple rust. Both maps present and pristine."

and crimsonpermanentassurance sold one in in Jan 2009 for $23. I didn't see a description on the condition unfortunately.

Having had to reinstall Windows means I've lost Microsoft Office and thus Excel for the time being.  Have to wait for the wife to get hers for me.  Otherwise I could tell you what recent auctions I know of.
