I've set the league up for live draft this Saturday August 25th at 7:00 pm CDT (GMT/UTC -5 hours).
If you have other commitments, worry not. You will auto-draft with the highest rated player on the board during your draft slot being allocated to your team. For those with commitments at any point during the draft, feel free to show up for some of the draft as your schedule allows.
There are not any advantages of live drafting over auto-drafting, as Yahoo does a pretty good job ranking players. And as I was reminded, this league really is just for fun! |

Draft has been run, how do people thing they went - good, bad, indifferent?
Myself, I was happy enough... having the #2 pick overall and getting Jackson was a huge plus, although not getting another choice until 28 picks later hurt. I'm taking a punt that Vince Young will do well this year, and live up to the hype.
Any early predictions on which team will be the one to watch?
Regards

So far as I can tell, I have two solid running backs and a golden tight end.
My recievers have potential.
My quarterback is OK...but a potential bust.
Overall, I suspect that the Freeport Gargoyles are a pretty good team. |

Hmmm. Tells me the league is not in pre-draft mode, and that the league is full. |

I end up with all the Seahawks and 49ers I can handle....sheesh.
Not one Cowboy in sight despite me moving them all up in my individual rankings, oh well.....

Well even though I wasnt able to participate in the draft I still picked up a top-tier QB and two very potent WR's. I think I may have some trouble getting points from my RB's though.
I think it is a bit odd that the system automatically drafts two kickers and two sets of defenses though. I already dumped the extra kicker and am in the process of picking up another player. Never played fantasy football before so I hope I dont regret that move.
I did take a look at some of the other participants. Looks like we have a few fantasy sports veterans in the group. Just frickin' great. |

I'm tightening up the corsets on the Ladies of Pain and hoping to maybe lose my backup defense for another RB. Good luck everyone - I'm a newbie at this, but Mr. lucyjoyce has been tutoring me a bit on the particulars. I was really surprised at how fast the draft went! |

I don't know the league's specific rules but I hope the league does not allow owners to carry more than a set number of players at any one position.
That would mean that you must carry two kickers and two defenses. Should be the rule...but I don't know if it is.
With 16 teams the talent pool is already pretty thin. |

Teams I think are the strongest on paper are the Gargoyles and the Killer B's.
Two other good teams are the Block Wipes and Vegepygmies.. but their bench's look pretty weak..
Autodrafting killed most teams, because it will take a kicker and defense early on to round out your team. Kickers shouldn't be taken until the very last pick... and unless its a stud defense, team D should be taken later as well. As a result, you are forgoing much better value in the draft. Anyways, I missed the first half hour, but I think I may have salvaged my team from the auto-draft demons..

Don't need another kicker until you get a bye week.. |

Autodraft did ok for me. I was hoping to pick up Michael Vick but I couldn't find him anywhere. I guess he's gone to the dawgs .... |

Actually, you've got one of the better starting lineups at the moment, and your bench is decent. You'll probably want to dump a kicker for another WR like Crayton or Moulds. A couple of good TE's are available.. Owens, Scaife, and E. Johnson.. but you've got plenty of those already |

Is it too early to start offering trades? I've sent one Badmike's way... I'd be happy to take some 49er's off his hands.

If you are looking at Frank Gore, hands off baby. Despite his broken hand, he was the NFC yards leader last year, and from the early looks of it, he's my entire team's future!!!! But I might be willing to part with that head case Darrell Jackson....
