Sorry we hammered you with questions Blackmoor!  Thanks for all the insight on the Gen Con stuff and miniatures. That's one of the reasons why the chat is so cool...!

Yeah, thanks for answering all the GenCon questions for us!

I am looking forward to the event, and hopefully being able to finally put faces with all the names here on the Acaeum!

It was such a success last week...

Let's do it again!

The Weekly Scheduled Acaeum Chat begins at 10 pm Central USA time again this Friday night the 8th.  Last week we went until about midnight, and had 6-8 visitors from the Acaeum chatting during the two hours.  Give it a try and see how fun it is...

Should be!

4AM on a night shift tends to be a good time for me - now all I have to do is register (and remember!!)

In the future if we get some more UK guys signed up, I can see a session at maybe 4-6 pm so it will be "only" midnight across the pond....of course first we have to get more Euros onboard!

There's already four people on tonight, so if you're wandering about with nothing else to do, come on over!

Last night's chat was a resounding success.  A peak of 11 members were on at one point.

The chat did get a little slow, so I've already implemented a new chat server which we're testing tonight.  It'll be live very soon, I think, as it's going quite well:  faster, more stable, and with the same smilies you know and love from here.  Laughing

I'll keep you posted.

Testing is complete.  The new URL is the same as the old:

http://deimos3428.acaeum.com/chat

(I just sym-linked the new location to the old, so those using the "testing" URL will should still connect just fine.)

Those that previously registered under the old chat will need to re-register -- I decided against trying to convert the user database as there's only about 20 outstanding accounts.

Improvements:

1.  A dice roller that works (and apparently rolls more 20s)
2.  Massive speed improvement
3.  Easier to administrate when we want to change things
4.  CenterStage doesn't get booted every couple of minutes
5.  Better logging
6.  Nicer smilies

What fun it was!
I came in early but work forced me away until almost everyone had finished!! (Damned work getting in the way at 4AM!!!)

When I logged on at the end Mike was just about the only one left - who proceeded to confirm my assumption that he was a thoroughly decent chap Very Happy

Keep dates and times posted - I'll be there if I can!
