So, I've been watching this item:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5179394142&rd=1&ssp agename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

Which is basically a lot of 10 Judges Guild maps. So I sent a question to the seller:

Quote:
Could you please list the map titles? thanx.

And the answer I got back?

Quote:
Can't take the time and keep the listing price at $1.99.

WTF? The auction is already at $6.50 with still 2 days to go. And I imagine before it's done it'll be closer to the $20 range. So what's up with the seller? I don't get that kind of attitude.

I can tell you with that kind of attitude, seller wouldn't be getting a penny from me. Wink

seller is obviously far too busy to be bothered with "petty details" ?

seems a little lame to me but hey they obviously don't want the money that much...

I'd still be willing to throw $20 at it. I'd be really pissed if they all turned out to be Player's Maps. But that's the gamble.

I sent a similar question to the seller with the extra added incentive of "If I know what they are, I just might bid on them". I'll post the results when they come.

I wrote him back:

Hi,

I don't mean to be pushy but... The lot is already at $6.50 with still two
days to go. I imagine you'll probably get somewhere in the vicinity of $20.
The least you could do is list the map titles so people can see what they're
bidding on. It's not like I'm asking for a lot.

And his reply:

At this point I just do not have the time to go through the maps and write them down for the low amount it will get my time is more valuable. Thanks for looking anyway

I don't wan to fly in the face of reason here.  But I can sort of see his point.  The seller has over 400 current auctions, nearly 7k feedback, and only 8 negatives.  And they don't appear to be a D&D specialist.

They know that they will make a few quid from the sale.  But don't want to spend anymore time on elaborating on the description.  Fair enough.  They might make extra $$$.  But don't think there is any cost benefit in expending the time.

And this might work in your favour.  You've got to ask yourself.  "Is it worth a gamble?"  Can you save the images and zoom in to give yourself an edge?

But I suppose that you could argue that in the time they have taken in the email exchanges, they could have typed up the titles of the maps! Confused

If you're not willing to give a little information about the items you're listing on eBay, you shouldn't be listing in the first place.

Just sent him about 6 or 7 inquiries. Let's see if I get any response from him at all.

Nicely done.  Smile

I think that the E-Mails from several Acaeum members convinced him that listing the maps by name was worth his trouble. In my E-Mail, I told him that IF I knew what the maps were, that I would likely bid on them, and that otherwise I could see no reason to bid on a stack of old maps that I knew nothing about. He named them and so I have now bid to show that I was serious.

Ah very nice!

*sets up snipe*

(although, his descriptions aren't the best... but I guess one must take what one gets, eh?)
