There's a 1st print DMG in this lot. It looks like a little sticker residue or something in the top right corner

There is also an early printing Men & Magic booklet in that lot(1st-3rd print). A bit beat up, but should help with the auction total.

A bit beat up? Granted there is worse out there...

I know, I know. This isn't that special, but were these ever sold individually or was this a re-shrink job? I don't remember seeing them sold outside of the set.

For some reason I think they were sold individually, but I'm not 100% positive.

I was just thinking that was just the blue Holmes book that was sold separately.

I wonder, is it listed on one of those distributor purchase forms someone had up on Ebay recently?

I'm not sure which it was, but the book was sold separately at some point.  I could find out when it was placed in the TSR product list and when maybe removed from it to know but I'm not on my computer now so will check later in the week.

Alright, did someone make some backroom deal here on the massively padded character sheets?! It looks like it was ended early...

I was curiously watching that too. No clue as to why. Deleted it from my list when I didn't see a relist notice after half the day went by.

This link is to an item with zero bids on it. Did you mean to link another ebay auction?

I know there were 0 bids on it so far, but the auction end date I'm sure still had several days to go. The listing was just ended early.

Or a massive loss of brain cells due to sniffing too much plastic.  Laughing  I think the third place bidder had it about right.

Dec1977/Jan1978 basic book sold for $5 on the product list to early 1981 is the last time it is seen (at that's only due to the same product list in the Players handbook.)  So the Holmes set seems to be the only one that had the book sold separate.
