I have been working on and off for about 2 years building our "D&D ROOM" to hold most of our collection and give us a cool place to play. I did 99.9% of the work myself with just a bit of help in the attic from my brother Shawn. All lighting is controlled by the DM via a dimmer/control box mounted under the table. When you walk in the lights automatically come on via a contactor mounted in the closet. There is also hidden strobe and fog machine for effects. I also mounted speakers in the beams and have a sound system in the closet. Here are a few photos...

This is facing West

The Northwest corner(cage and helmet are props from 1st D&D movie)

The windows during daytime

Northeast corner 1(cover art to N5 on wall, folding lantern is from 1st D&D movie)

Northeast corner 2

Main door(handmade skeleton key needed to exit)

Southeast corner(cover art to C3 on wall, keyring hides motion sensing light switch)

Weapons rack(designed/built it myself, most weapons are from 1st D&D movie)

Southwest corner

Portcullis 1

Portcullis 2

Now that's a sight to see.  Well done!

I'd be to paranoid to use a fog machine in that room though  Embarassed

Nice!

I would like to know what materials you used to build the shelves for the main room.

Question Devon,

Are the walls made from actual stone blocks or are they tile? Are they homemade or purchasable? If purchasable, what is the series/model/design of the tiles/stone?

Are the beams solid or are they plank construction to accommodate the wiring for the lighting and speakers?

The design concept is wonderful and would go well with any basement or even an office, both of which I need design ideas for.

Awesome concept and design work!!!

Props, salut

I called my wife down to my office to look at your game room.  She thought it was pretty cool.  She said we ought to deck out our basement that way.

Did I mention she's also hot?  Cool
