Advertise your wanting one at the classified ad section.
You should have one by next week, if offering anywhere near that price.
If I had one, you would not have to post the advert. |

$1075! Is the winner a member here? |
This price didn't surprise me at all. That's about what the last went for a few years ago. |

Interesting auction...

IIRC the last one (way back in Feb 2007) went for $1,035 - sweet condition but not shrinkwrapped. Not something I've gone out of my way to keep records on, so apologies if I've missed one!
I'm not quite sure how complete SW needs to be to counted, mind you, and IMHO incomplete, "shredded" but encompassing shrink on a warped module is less good looking than SW with a single neat cut across the top allowing the module to be taken out. That doesn't translate into auction realisations, however, as for some reason, some people seem to pay extra not only for the plastic, but whether the plastic encompasses the item, however tentatively. Boxes are slightly different, perhaps.
The set before that, I think, (March 2006) was $343; fine box but a few of the contents lightly used. I can live with the $700 difference as that's probably still (a lot) more than an unexciting brown box is worth.
Brian had a roughish box up for sale here (Jun 21, 2007) but not sure whether that was sold "locally" or went to eBay. Yeah, the last "fully" SW'd one was around $1k, too, but the record for that sale would be on my other PC, I think. I get the feeling that most of those brown boxes have been pulped for one reason or another in the past 25 years; deservedly so? |

I think the BIN seems high because we know TLG will have another sale and they will be $2 each and if you order enough, you can get free shipping (at least in the US). |

i won the 10th anniv. set last night. there is not much i'm missing, so the price was reasonable to me (as it would be to degassy as well, obviously). david i thought you crystalized some of the valuation of the item very well (but i'm on the opposite side of the fence from you). to me a module that has a carefully cut opening in its' shrinkwrap such that the module could be removed for viewing, might as well not be in the shrink at all. the value in shrinkwrap (if original shrinkwrap of course) is that it is proof that the interior module (or items inside a boxed set) have not been touched (and therefore devalued) by a consumer. i would obviously have preferred the shrinkwrap to be completely intact, and i will keep looking for one in that state, but i feel with reasonable certainty that the items inside the box are in the same condition they were in at the time of packing. that is what i am willing to pay up for... |

Looks like a 5th print to me.
No starburst and no prices on the books. |
