I have a question to ask the forum about the 1st print basic set.
Did a version come out with a blank (completely white) box bottom. I was just looking at mine and the box bottom is indeed blank! Everything else is there
Is my set incomplete?
Let me know what you think? |

Mine are not blank..only thing I can think of if it fits would be the EotPT box. Not sure if TSR put out any other box set with a blank bottom around that size.

Yes, there are a couple other games that had white bottom boxes - Dungeon! also comes to mind. |

Right now there is a copy of the rulebook and a B1. I have the Geos and M&T somewhere I am sure. I know the B1 didn't come with it but I stuck one in there anyway |

I guess the question is "Did anyone remember purchasing a Basic Box with a plain white bottom?" Because if not perhaps the sets out there with the white bottom were Frankensteined from other games from the same period. I've found all sorts of crazy mixtures of tops and bottoms during the years.

Mine has the rulebook and the M&T. Do we know that it came with the Geos, this being a true first print set and all? (only half-kidding. seriously, if this is a predecessor to the 1st print, should it have come with the geos or not?) |

I think Lankhmar, Dungeon!, Little Big Horn, and William the Conqueror all had those white bottoms in their earliest printings, and IIRC they're all c. 1975-1976 too. I don't own LBH, so I can't confirm that one. I don't recall the white box bottoms extending into 1977 for other box sets, though. Perhaps it was left over stock, perhaps it's a Frankenstein?? |
