Another thing I found yesterday at a Garage Sale was an R2 - Investigation of Hydell.
Almost Mint inside, outside it has shelf wear where it must have had a smaller box or book next to it.  A couple questions:
Frank lives in Wisconsin, and not exactly easily accessible, but would it be worth the trip to get him to sign it (from Chicago the next time I am there?)
Since to be honest, I'm sure it would be much more loved elsewhere (I'm a "spacey" gamer) would it be best to probably sell it on Ebay or wait until next years GenCon auction?
Same garage sale had a copy of Dune: Spice Harvest in the shrink.
Also I picked up "The Dungeon of the Bear" for T&T, all 3 levels in different baggies, but I think they are UK versions.  Exceptionally clean.

Nice finds....even if they arent in the best condition.  Hoping that someday I come across some really good stuff like this at a garage or estate sale.  So far the only D&D items I have come across at a garage sale were some really beat up 2nd edition hardbacks and some Dark Sun stuff.  Mostly junk.

Getting Frank to "deface" the module would probably be easiest at GenCon and there is always LGGC, which is in June.  The GenCon auction seems to be more of a buyers market.  But it does depend on the item and just how many people want it.  You will probably get a better price for it on Ebay but obviously it depends on the condition.

Frank is at every Gencon...if you were going to bring it anyway to auction, he would happily "deface" it for the lucky winner.  Since you got it cheaply (i'm assuming since you found it at a garage sale) you'd do ok selling it there.

And I have to reiterate my mantra, in 45 years I have yet to see a SINGLE RPG item at a garage sale, and I've been to hundreds in my life.  It must be a Texas thing..I think since we have so many Half Price Books here (20 in D/FW alone) people get conditioned at a young age to bring their used books, games and module there rather than sell them out of the garage....

This past spring I picked up a small box of AD&D 1e stuff and a truck load of wargames from a garage sale. So they are out there but finding them is the whim of the gods.

My only fnid at a garage sale was one of the more common basic rules set. I do share every collectors dream of spying a brown box amidst the junk at a garage sale though!
