Hello all, glad to be here! My name is Mike and Im probably the eldest here...38. Can anyone top that? Anyway, Ive only played basic through advanced D&D. Ive never played anything (and dont intend to) newer than AD&D. While I was in the service my family sold my entire collection of role playing games. Thousands and thousands worth, Cthulhu, paranoia, gurps, marvel and dc heroes, middle earth etc. Man I wish I still had them-really depressing. Anyhow, thought Id introduce myself!

Mike;

You might want to check out the "Introduce Yourself" thread....much for useful for putting this sort of information.  And at 38, you are about in the mid range of RPG collectors on this site.

I'll bet you're just a kid, Goat.
I think most of us are semi-fossilized, due to the fact that this site is mostly focused on 1E, and the young whippersnappers rarely get exposure to it.

Sorry about posting to the wrong place, I thought I was in the introduce your self column. Im so old Im getting alzheimer's!

Seeing how this is collecting general, I just bought a copy of deities and demigods in new condition (cuthulhu etc..) and unread. The guy bought it and tossed it into some plastic and kept it for 30 years or so. It even has a new book smell, its sitting in my safe right now!

Have you got anything left from your original collection or has it all gone?  Out of interest, do you intend to collect in any particular order?  They way I go about it is trying to buy one of everything off the Acaeum list and then trade the conditon up.
Good luck Smile

I dont have anything from my old collection, makes me sick thinking of all the items I wouldve had today. Right now Im in the process of filling my online store-Ive got alot of old d&d stuff on the way, currently I have two red box D&D sets. One is in near mint condition (a couple of small creases on the front box cover), the other's box is damaged but the contents are also complete and mint looking. One box set has the rpga sign up sheet also, the other does not. If anyone's interested, my webstore is at http://controlledchaosgaming.ecrater.com/ right now the only items I have are a bunch of AD&D hardbacks. In the next week or so I'll be listing alot more-most of the hardbacks are priced at $10 apiece.
I also entertain reasonable offers. Even if you guys dont buy, check it out and give me some feedback on it.
Keep in mind Ive just started!
Thanks,
Mike
