Hi all, a stupid question on the Silver Anniversary boxed set:

5000 is the print run... thereof 1000 of these sets have a numbered and signed litograph in it: these are more valuble of course than the remaining "ordinary" 4000 boxed sets...

now, the question is related on how to recognize a limited set: is the litograph the only feature to discern it?

looking at the auction here: http://cgi.ebay.com/DUNGEONS-DRAGONS-25TH-SILVER-RARE-VERSION-1-OF-100 0-TSR_W0QQitemZ270257757134

it seems like it is the only detail... now, i have a SW set: how to understand whether it is "more special" or only "special"? Very Happy

I also have a SWed box set and have no idea if it is one of 1,000, or one of the other 4,000.
Honestly it never even occured to me.

In either case, a Silver Anniversary Box Set is worth quite a bit.
Although I do feel that $300 is way over the top even so.
And I am not concerned enough to want to crack mine open to find out if it is signed and numbered one of 1000.

I suspect with your question that you do not want to open yours either.
So, NOT a stupid question.
I would like to know the answer myself.

The ones that contain the signed print have a big round silver sticker on the shrinkwrap that says "Includes Signed Limited Edition Print by Jeff Easley".

Well that should be easy to figure out.
With SWed copies at least, and the ones not shrinked... well the Signed and numbered Easley print should be there of course.

Thanks much.

HOLY CRAP!!!!!!

Well, I have had a few of them and mistook one (Or two) I had sold to Mike for the one I have left.
It has been in the shelf for a long time and my SWed box set is not SWed after all.
But guess what?

There is a signed and Numbered (771/1000) Easley Print inside.

OK..........   Who has $300 (USD) they want to spend?   Cool

Even for a shrinked one, $300 is a bit much. There's plenty of them around.

I use the boxes as storage in the little cabinet next to my bed - They look neater spine out than a load of scrappy rpg books, so Mrs Gyg doesn't get stressed. I currently have 4 of them, though I have never owned the complete boxed set! (Boxes go cheap if you don't really want L3 Very Happy )

You can grab a SW set without the signed print for around $150 or cheaper.
Just gotta be patient.

http://www.ccgs.co.uk/

Malcolm has them advertised at £50 - shipping might be an issue to the states though
