OK, so I am in contact with the game's creator, and could get a reprint (not an original copy, though) of this game. The price is $50 + a small shipping fee.
Do you guys think it would be worth it? I know the game has a certain reputation, but that is one reason I want to see it. Also, it seems to be next to impossible to locate, in my limited experience. |

I imagine if one came up on Ebay, it would fetch a fortune. A lot of people here have commented over the time I've been here that it is something they'd love to get their hands on. I have never seen one either.
Schick, of course, ranks it as the most appalling RPG ever created, and say it is legendary amongst RPG designers for this reason. I suspect there are not enough originals to go around - so getting a reprint just to read would be worth $50! |

I bought one and I know Mars did as well... I thought it was worth it as I have only seen the origional for sale once on ebay (there may have been more I didn't take too much notice till recently...)
I'm still after an origional copy though....

Hey, if you guys have all been in touch with the author, has he told you anything about the criticism and / or whether he designed it seriously or as a bit of a joke? |

he gives a nice intro to it yes, and yes it is real...
From memory it says that he was unaware of all the fuss until someone tracked him down and rang him up out of the blue in 1998(?)..

Yep, I tracked him down too and picked up a copy a while back. I have only seen one copy for sale on Ebay and it sold for over $150 (I forget if it sold for $175 of $250 though). Definitely hard to come by. |

No, he prints them up himself and binds them with a plastic coil binding etc. |

The odd thing, to me, is the physical address is only 26 miles from where I used to live. Had I known that... well, yeah. I'd have had one of these a long time ago. |

From the sounds of it, he did do a few print runs. The initial run was very limited but he did reprint a couple of times to have some on hand to sell. Now it seems as if he does one offs every once in a while. |

I remember the review of "Spawn of Fashan" in the Dragon.
It was their APRIL issue, so I always thought that review was an "April Fools Joke"
After all, the April 1982 issue had the Jester class, and instead of "Giants in the Earth", they had "Midgets in the Earth.
I thought the review was a joke. A parody review of all those D&D rip offs.
I didn't know there was an actual game! |
