This seems like a ridiculous price to me, but I've been surprised before at the prices for various printings of these fairly common books.

Werent there a few editors copies of 3rd edition rulebooks sold at the GenCon auction this year for a few hundred bucks?

I'll take a look at my copy. I thought that they were given out to playtesters for 3rd Edition...

I think I paid around $120 for mine, or something absurd like that.

Tsojconth

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230298452446

NB: 12 feedback seller with no history of selling older items. Claims this is the original bag.  Worth asking some questions...

Oh, and a starting bid of $950  Wink

There were also circulated as review/preview copies, as well as for earlier conventions than GenCon:  IIRC Winter Fantasy in 2000 was the debut for the first Living Greyhawk scenarios (which were all crap in the very initial batch:  basically just vehicles to showcase the rules differences).

Red Arrow Black Shield ... says it's complete, but I didn't see the counters in the photo

http://cgi.ebay.com/RED-ARROW-BLACK-SHIELD-X10-9160-DUNGEONS-DRAGONS-R PG_W0QQitemZ200261347998QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item200261347998&_trkparms =39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A10%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14

The monster manual listing is kind of funny.  "This book is in good condition for it's age.   The book is in excellent condition for it's age." That's after you see the photo...

I haven't looked at this book in years, and it's cool to notice the datestamp on the first page (file name, date and time of printing, and page #).   Cool

If that's his understanding of the definitions of the words 'good' and 'excellent', I'd like to think his wife is a good cook and his kids are doing excellent at school. Laughing

This guy is a lying f~ck, pure and simple. Probably the worst I've seen. People like this should be banned from eBay. They should probably be banned from breeding as well, but that's a different discussion.

But if we ban them from Ebay, we'll have nothing to post in the Laughable item descriptions thread!

even if not uncommon, i'd stress out that it is not easy to find one of these still in shrink:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Dungeons-Dragons-D-D-2-vintage-Modules-adventure s_W0QQitemZ270281151486

price is great and only 3h left! hurry up!

btw, the seller has several other ad&d 1E in shrink on sale!

Obviously this seller has no idea what he has:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Lot-of-misc-role-playing-game-adventure-modules_W0 QQitemZ310090701840QQihZ021QQcategoryZ44111QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcm dZViewItem

Quite a few rare items in there including a Tsojconth.  No idea on the condition at this point though.  Same seller has a couple of decent Judges Guild lots as well.

This seller has some nice looking geomorphs up:

http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZsourier

There is a reserve on the auctions though and only ships to U.S.

I sent her a email...she's now got pictures to go with the listing. Apparantly it's missing a page or two, though. Should still be a nice deal for a bargain hunters, as there are some other fun items in the pile.
